4.3 Mograine, Korth’azz, Blaumex, and Zelik (Naxxramas)

Table of Contents

Introduction

Undoubtedly the hardest battle before Kel’Thuzad in Naxxramas. These four extremely difficult bosses (just by themselves!) stand for most guilds as the last line of defense before you begin marching towards Kel’Thuzads chambers. Only the most powerful and well coordinated guilds are currently able to defeat this encounter, due to the massive amounts of damage dealt within the encounter itself.

Set-Up!

Balanced raid with some of your best players for sure. Tons of consumables and anything else you can grab your hands on. Oh, and patience. You’ll need tons of patience to learn this encounter. It’s a very difficult encounter, even more difficult then all of the other bosses combined. Be prepared for it.

Skills

Shield Wall: Each boss will use Shield Wall at around 50% hp.

Spirit Revival/Summon Spirit: When each boss dies then they come back as a stationary ghost that can instantly kill most players in melee range and continue casting their specific mark.

<Boss’s Name> Mark: After 20 seconds (and every 12 seconds afterwards) each boss will place their mark (similar to Firemaw) on nearby players. At about four marks the damage gets so much that you can’t really heal through it, so this is where the difficulty of the encounter comes in. Immunity skills and most shields have no affect at stopping the damage.

Mograine’s Special Ability: Each melee hit has a chance to do massive amounts of damage along with a DoT that ticks for 4800 damage in eight seconds. Mitigated by fire resistance (very similar to Ragnaros’s Elemental Fire).

Sir Zeliek’s Special Ability: Starts at about 500 damage then chains to another player for double damage. Continues to no one around him hasn’t been hit by it. Done every twelve of so seconds.

Thane Korth’azz’s Special Ability: 15,000ish AoE fire damage on a nearby player. Can kinda avoid the animation on this one.

Lady Blaumeux’s Special Ability: She makes a certain spot on the floor a massive DoT (4,000ish damage a tick). It lasts for about 90 seconds and she puts a new one up every 12 seconds or so.

Tactics

Practice, practice, practice is the only thing that’ll win over this encounter. You’ll need to work out within your raid on how you want to tank and switch out bosses. Each boss will need to be tanked in the corner and all of the players will need to rotate around to keep from getting too much of the <Boss’s Name> Mark on them.

Really, it comes down to coordination in avoiding Marks and the special abilities and being able to take a boss down very quickly. Each one that falls makes the encounter easier and easier, but at the same time as the fight goes on and on it becomes harder and harder and harder to win.

When one boss is left and at low HP he’ll enrage and try to wipe out the raid. Burn him down quickly for success!
