Warhammer Online: Collector’s Edition with Steve Perkins

The Warhammer Online Collector’s Edition is out for pre-order today! We got a chance to see the collector’s edition last week as Steve Perkins was there to show off the very cool set up for true collectors of Warhammer.

The boxed set comes with the game, a graphic novel exclusive to the Warhammer Online story, a book filled with concept artwork, and of course it would not be Warhammer without a miniature as well. Orc and Goblin commanders will be pleased to see the huge Orc Warboss that is coming in the boxed set.

The box is seven pounds of pure Warhammer goodness and will make a nice showcase on any gamer’s shelf. The concept art booklet is hardcover and bound to look like something you would find in the Old World itself. Being a huge fan or Games Workshop art, this book is fantastic for players. The book is two hundred and twenty four pages of work by the artistic design team which really bring to life the Warhammer world.

Players are also treated to a one hundred and twenty eight page graphic novel. The story and artwork show the back story of Warhammer Online and also contain chapters on all six races. This will certainly give players an overview of the world they’ll be playing in and against each other.

So you get the graphic novel, miniature, and the hard-bound art book, but EA Mythic is not stopping there. They are also giving in game items as well. One of the things a Collector’s Edition player will have access to is twelve exclusive character heads, two for each race. That’s right you can really set yourself apart with this feature. Also players will get twelve exclusive quests, two per each race. This will allow players to stand out and get some unique goodies when the game is launched. Two of the items we saw were the Chaos cloak and the Greenskin severed dwarf head.

The Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning Collector’s Edition is available for pre-order today just about everywhere. The price is $79.99 retail. There are only 60,000 copies of this edition and they are numbered so you know which one you have gotten. This is definitely a rare and exclusive opportunity for real Warhammer collectors to get in early and get a nice edition to their video game collector’s case.
