Now, let's get our newest members lined up for the role call.

New Members of the Soup

3305 Local - Clan Website

3305 Local was forged in Anarchy Online in the fall 2001. We are an online gaming community may band to together to better their gaming experience. We are a mature light RP guild interested in helping to contribute to AoC community as whole and to clan in general through regular events and raids.

We are planning on playing on the unofficial or the official US/RP server and we are accepting members from all over the world. If you have an interest in joining our clan in AoC we extend a warm and open invitation to join us.

Dark Haven - Clan Website

The town of Dark Haven was forged from the blood, sweat and will of many people from distant lands who share a determination to survive. Besieged on all sides by bands of murderous marauders and evil creatures that prowl the night forests, these men and women have built a sanctuary for those who are willing to work hard and take care of their fellow residents. It is here that is offered a second chance to those seeking such, and a place to call home for those who have lost theirs and are tired of living on the road, on the run. Many talented crafters and skilled warriors have and will call Dark Haven home. Will you?

We plan to locate ourselves on a PvE (RP PvE should there be one at launch) server. The only requirements we have are maturity and to have fun. Some of us will PvP, some of us will raid, quite a few of us roleplay, but none of this is required.

Varangian Order - Clan Website

The Varangian Order is a “Viking / Anglo-Saxon / Celtic” (PVP & Light RP) themed guild, but that does not mean you must play as a specific class or race to join. You will find far more than just PvP going on in the guild, we enjoy RP, lore, crafting and exploring, and no, you do not have to be an “elite” gamer to join. We take any skill level of player – we are a guild of new friends. We help each other and try our best to have fun and relax when in-game. Some of our players are long time gamers and excel at the various play styles they prefer, which is a great help to the more casual members.

Our leaders and some of our officers have run longstanding and successful guilds in a number of other games and know what is required to be successful and have fun. When in group PvP, it won’t be bravado, but tactics, co-ordination and an understanding of each others’ abilities and roles that win us battles. Our guild already has members from Europe, Australia, Japan, Malaysia, the East, West and Central time zones in the USA; we will have active members playing nearly around the clock. We use the Central Time Zone in the USA as a base reference for events.

Barbarians of Ironwolf - Clan Website

We are here after 2yrs in Dungeons and Dragons Online. We provide members with an experience that involves inner guild events , Prestige
trophy system, server wide events and alot of depth along with a great place to let that inner barbarian inside of you be unleashed. If you are seeking a guild with fun people dedicated to being a savage force on the battlefield with good tactics and knowledge this is your guild. We are also a Barbarian themed guild with a background story as to why we are here and wanting to destroy those larger guilds out there. Thank you.

The Old Timers Guild - Clan Website

Our Motto is "Laid back, not so serious, no drama. All about the fun!"

OTG is a Multi-Game Guild with chapters in AOC, DDO, EQ2, EvE , HL, LOTRO ,PotBs, TR, VG, WoW and soon WAR. We are a group of mature players (25 to not dead yet) interested in having fun in the game and enjoying it for what it is. Win, lose, or draw; the objective is to enjoy ourselves. We like to run large guild centric Chapters and have been very successful in a number of games OTG supports. With our wide range of play styles and the cooperative nature of our members AOC feels like a game built for OTG, we have our eyes set on the Border Kingdoms and already have hundreds of OTGer's ready to meet the Challenge …We will be Organizing on a US Normal(PvE) and FFA-PvP Servers.

Silver Wolf Clan - Clan Website

The Silver Wolf Clan is an RP PVP guild. Our goal is to build a committed community of mature, fun loving individuals with a no drama policy. Our focus is group oriented for the best overall game experience. Whether your play style is Casual or Hardcore, you will find all levels of commitment within our walls. SWC be participating in all aspects of the game; PVP, PVE, Raids, Crafting, City Planning, etc.

Silver Wolf Clan members are expected to display certain values such as; Honor, Respect, Discipline, and Trust. Once on the inside, you’ll quickly learn that SWC is full of ale swilling, bar brawling, politically incorrect bastards; although we are also jovial, light hearted, fun loving individuals that enjoy giving and receiving a good ribbing. We honor ourselves, our clan, our word, and our friends. What we look for first and foremost are people that will join in the fun and camaraderie that makes SWC what we are.

Born in Chaos - Clan Website

Born in Chaos is a casual yet dedicated PvP oriented guild full of mature gamers. Our guild has been together for over 6 years and we have Born in Chaos branches across many different MMO's. If you are looking for a guild FAMILY, this is the place for you. Stop by our main portal at www.borninchaos.com or go directly to our AoC site at aoc.borninchaos.com.

The Forsaken - Clan Website

The guild was started in January 06', and we've been having a great time together ever since. It's hard to estimate the exact amount of members we have, because we rebuilt our entire site and forums and not all of our all members have returned yet. Though anything from our current amount of registered members, 57 (as of the 29. of November '07) and 100 is possible. These inactive members will obviously be removed as we get closer to launch. We are pre-guilding to get to know eachother better and have fun together, not to just sign up and disappear for a year or two. Our members hail from all over Europe, although the majority are from Scandinavian countries.

Except for having fun and slaughtering the innocent we also have in-game goals such as reaching the member limit of 120 to maximize the prestige-class bonuses as well as being able to defend our in-game assets. We will obviously defend both a PvE town and a PvP fortress, and also do all other PvE and PvP activities that will be added to the game.

Clan of the Jade Lotus - Clan Website

We are a casual yet organized US EST (-5 GMT) PvE clan. Raiding and PvP will be done when we can manage, and both will be kept light, NOT the focus of the guild in any way. Quality before quantity, and humor in poor taste abound here.

The Exodus Syndicate - Exodus member Alex Taldren has created a promotional video for his Clan's upcoming foray into Hyboria with Age of Conan. You can check out the video either at the clan's website, or at Alex's personal blog. Looking mighty good, I must say.

Clan of the Mandrill - The Mandrills would like to share with you their new AoC/Clan Soup Banner, which will be attached to their part of the Clan Soup Registry. Here it is in all it's skull-tastic glory.

Brotherhood of the Sacred Shadows - Currently our clan is playing several different MMO's awaiting the launch of AoC.
Right now I'd say the majority of us are playing DDO, and Lotro under different clan names, but we're having fun, and getting to know each other much better. Our most recent event was a Ventrilo Meet and Greet. We had a pretty good turn out considering the knuckle head that hosted it, scheduled it on Easter Weekend (looks around for finger pointing then hides).

Right now we're gearing up for Age of Conan, and our latest activities are consisting of New signature banners for our members. We have a very talented Artist working on that as well as a new Epic Recruitment Trailer for our site, which we're all eagerly waiting to see.

We also have a small tavern RP story going, that is loosely based on the world of Hyboria. It's a great storyline and we're really having fun with it.

Question of the Week

This week's question elicited some very interesting responses. What was said question? Well it was a two-parter...

What is your Clan's biggest in-game achievement? How did you celebrate?

The Old Timers Guild had this to say:

In Dungeons and Dragons Online
one of our proudest achievements has to be The Old Timers Guild becoming such a huge success. Our start was in DDO and to date I believe we still hold the record for the largest Guild ever assembled in DDO with well over 900 members at launch. Our DDO clan went on to capture a number of server and world firsts.

We knew we had our work cut out for us so we celebrated in the last night of beta, Note: No elves were permanently damaged in the recording of this video which can also be seen here.

In Vanguard: Saga of Heroes our Vanguard Chapter also holds the record for largest guild on there server and achieved notoriety for being one of the guilds to build a world first Guildhall, a lot of blood, sweat and keyboard mashing went into building one of these suckers.

They celebrated by getting right back to work getting our newly constructed Guildhall ready for some very important visitors. Check it out here and here.

And lastly, in Pirates of the Burning Sea OTG's biggest achievement was On February 22nd, 2008 as part of the Spanish nationals (on the Antigua server). We earned a prominent role in Pirates of the Burning Sea's history, when they became the victors of the first ever server wide Map Win. Check out the story here.

OTG and the rest of the Spanish alliance Celebrated again by doing it all over again on on March 22, 2008 ….Arr matey!

Born in Chaos wrote this in:

One evening about 4 years ago, Born in Chaos was engaged in a heavy PVP battle in Ultima Online. We were fighting over a Champ spawn and were in a war of about 30 of us versus 30 or more of an enemy guild. One of my officers suddenly shouted out in Ventrilo that his wife had been in a car accident, and that he had to leave. When I called him at his house later that night, I found out that one of his children had been permanently paralyzed and two others hurt.

Born in Chaos then came together and donated items in game that we sold for real cash (this was not taboo that many years ago), and many, many BiC'ers donated real cash to the cause. Altogether we came up with about $500.00 to send to our friend and his family in their time of need. We have never been more proud than we were at that moment. Something like that was far more meaningful to us than any boss kill could ever be.

[JoBildo's Note: Now THAT'S what I call pulling through for clannies!]

Barbarians of Ironwolf reported this little nugget:

Barbarians of Ironwolf in Dungeons and Dragons Online.... we where named just Ironwolf at that time.

We had our guild struggling to kill Velah this huge red dragon and you had to go through all these Vault of Night series quests to get flagged for the Dragon.

We would group up and help each and every member get ready for it , well we failed, failed again and again at killing her. Finally we took her down as a full guild in a raid of 12 guild members since that is the most you can have. It was an amazing feeling to know as a full guild we over came her fiery and fire. She was one tough broad. The awards where decent too. Since then we took her down a total of 25 or so times.

We then went to our Hammersmith Inn where we had all our meetings and such and celebrated with some hardcore drinking and celebration. It was a great night for the guild and its members. I could go back to other titles but that is our most recent.

The Brotherhood of the Sacred Shadows had this to say:

Well considering that this is a brand new Clan, I'll have to answer this question like this. a little back history on(Boss) We were formed from the conception of 2 allied guilds in DDO. Dragon Order of Arcanix, and Keepers of the Arcane. We had several polls and discussions(that got heated at times) and finally settled on our current name. We decided we didn't want to carry any of the other guild names into a New MMO, and start anew. Now that we have that out of the way, the only answer I can give to the questions is.

Our biggest in-game event was based on 2 of our DDO Guilds founders being called away to duty in Iraq for a 15 month tour, we decided to get everyone in the guilds help and put together a care package for them. We sent out a call to our guild mates to pitch in and give what ever they could through one of our members pay-pal accounts. Well to make a long story shorter, we got a significant amount of money and other items to put into a care package, ranging from beef jerky to CDs and Snacks and lots of other stuff that are hard to get over there. It was a huge success, and our Guild Mates in Iraq got the package, and were deeply touched that people they have only known online rallied together, and cared enough to send them the package. They also shared their package with the other soldiers there, whom were very happy to get it.

To celebrate this event, we added a logo to our DDO guild Banner that we "Support Our Troops in Iraq". Sorry if this isn't exactly what your looking for, but it's the best I can think of. Now after AoC releases we'll have something more game related. But even still, I would like to remind any of the other clans out there that have members over in Iraq, get together and send them something, anything, even if it's just a letter. They will be glad you did, and I think you will too.

The Brotherhood of the Spider wrote in with this tale:

Drow has been an active organization for over 14 years. There have been so many good times and amazing accomplishments that it was a difficult decision to decide on just one. We could pick one of the dozens of server and world firsts. It might be appropriate to share one of those hilarious moments that has gained legendary status and is now an inside joke.

But in the end we decided that if there was one single “greatest moment” that defined us, that gave us the tag we have and are so proud to wear today, the honor would go to our Everquest division. Here is a write-up on the accomplishment that earned Brotherhood of the Spider (Blood of the Spider) a spot on the Top 5 Moments in MMO History: Death of the Sleeper - EverQuest November 15-17, 2007

Come join the Brotherhood of the Spider in AoC and claim you place on a winning team that knows how to have fun.

Nova Krepusko tells this tale:

Some of us played together in Sain Minuial, a Lotro Kinship, and got to know each other very well. Sure, we slayed orcs, gobblins, spiders big as houses and the most frightening balrog ever, witch by the way made me cry the first time we killed him, and dont forget those filthy little dwarfs, death to them all! But the one thing we are most proud of is the great friendship, cooperation and the spirit of togetherness we created ingame. Every day we celebrate this achievement by being a happier kinship and enjoy the game to a much grater extent then we otherwise would.

We do have big parties to though. One time we tried to crash the server by jumping around the actionhouse, walking around the entire Bree town as a big train-chain and drank beer, wine and in Ventrilo we screamed, yelled, burped, announced our love to each other, and had a VERY good time. Hmm, when i think of it, I almost do those things every day.

Lastly, Cogent sent in this little blurb:

After much discussion with several members of Cogent, we came to the realization that our biggest in-game achievement would have to be:

An all guild PvP raid on several Horde cities. It was completely spontaneous, with 50+ Cogent . We traveled through the lands of Azeroth like a wave of death and destruction. On foot, in their cities, mounted to chase them down, and even on their own zeppelins, Cogent decimated the Horde.
To celebrate we threw a huge guild party with duels, drinking, dancing, and many different types of prizes. The prizes ranged from weapons and armor to rare mats for crafting, and even gold!

Cleaning Up

That's it for this week. I hope you've all had your fill. Remember, we're always accepting new members and all you have to do is follow the instructions found on this page. And don't forget to check out the Clan Registry to get a look at all the clans in one heaping mound of goodness!

Until next week, eat well fellow Hyborians!
