Now let's take a moment to welcome our newest Clan Soup members.

New Members of the Soup

STOIC - Clan Website

We are a USA, PvE/Raiding guild. Stoic is a mixture of Hard-Core Raiders as well as casual players/PvP (non-raiders) thats Bringing together camaraderie, ass-kicking, alcohol-abusing, and good-times to the AoC PvE server that we choose to land on. Stoic's PRIMARY goal is END-GAME RAIDING! However, we also plan on building a player-city and hold our own Border Keep and be active in PvP (Arena's, Siege warfare, and drunken brawls).

The Hammerfist Clan - Clan Website

We're an adult kinship looking for mature members age 18 or older. We're more of a social/casual guild than hardcore. How you choose to spend your gaming time is up to you. Dictating how and when you need to play is not our style.

It's our goal to provide a friendly, stress free environment in which to enjoy the game. If you are looking to join us, some things you should keep in mind are: We value friendship over loot and hoarding. Guilds can be an excellent place to meet new friends and share good times and experiences that keep with you for years. Squabbling over loot has no place here. Providing a decent environment, void of riff-raff and distractions is an A-1 priority in any MMO we play. Leaving the drama behind and entering a world of fantasy and fun is what it's all about.

Clan Optera - Clan Website

As a semi-casual, RP-PvP clan, our goal is to foster and maintain a dynamic clan that supports and encourages all of its' members, who have a variety of play-style preferences. We will embrace all aspects of AoC, including PvE, PvP, roleplay, exploration, crafting and everything in between. We will be participating in a positive, supportive role with the community on our home server. Please visit the forums on our website to sign up or discuss Clan Optera.

Weekly Clan News

The Old Timers Guild - The members of OTG would like to share a few things with the community this week.

See OTG is doing a launch of both Normal and PvP for launch at this time. W efeel why limit our members to one server type. The combined size of our guild is over 450 people. Our PvP chapter just broke 100 members while the Normal is now over 350 members. We are grateful for all who have come out to join us and we are looking forward to the launch.

Sol Invictus -
Sol Invictus had one of their Clan meetings last Sunday where we discussed the path we will take in regards of PvP/PvE and crafting. We are aiming to be up and running for raiding within 2 months of release. Also aiming to have a race towards 80 (yes, we are that insane).

Recruitment update: Still recruiting a few faithful followers who are willing to make the extra step and help us become one of the known guilds on the server, we are offering you a friendly atmosphere, friendly community and soon a good game! I would also like to take this chance to welcome Rhomez and Michiel into Sol Invictus.

Brotherhood of the Spider -
The fine folks of the Drow would like to remind everyone that their forums are booming, and that there's plenty of conversation to be had there if you're a forum nut. Heck their post count rivals that of TTH's very own Age of Conan boards! Now that's active! You can find the forums at HERE.

Question of the Week

This week, I polled the Clans on a delicate subject for a lot of folks regarding MMOGs...

Death Penalty or No Death Penalty?

The results were a resounding 100% FOR A DEATH PENALTY, minus one clan who couldn't come to a majority vote. I think it's loud and clear from this sampling of Age of Conan clans that it's a necessary thing to have in an MMOG, to help make the death of your character actually mean something and perhaps be dreaded. Here are some of the choice quotes from the voting session...

Hammerfist Clan - Life has less meaning when the consequence of death is no longer respected.

Sol Invictus - Since we aren't immortal and we aren't gods I feel that if we fail something and die we should be penalized for it a bit. This will make the game also more interesting and will give some more fun aspects to the game.

Vigor Mortis - Without a death penalty a player could take a more dangerous route to his destination, because it doesn't matter if he dies. But if he gets a stat loss or loses some money, said player will be more careful when traveling around. We do believe it's more realistic to fear death than to run straight into it (unless you believe in Valhalla).

That's it for this week. In the coming weeks we'll begin a series of weekly Clan Interviews intended to highlight the awesomeness that is our mighty Clans of Conan, so don't miss out! Join the Soup today!
