Cal Ripken's Real Baseball Cinco de Mayo Event Video

Posted April 14th, 2008 by Ethec

In Cal Ripken's Real Baseball, a massively multiplayer online game (MMOG) about baseball, enthusiasts and gamers compete in 3D virtual stadiums. Players use an avatar to bat, pitch, field, run, steal and perform any baseball action. Participants can practice, play pick-up games, join or found their own teams, compete against rival teams, play in specialized tournaments, and win league championships in post-season play. Gamers create their own characters and build their skill level (player stats) through successful play on the field against other real human players--all in a first-person persepctive.

Cal Ripken's Real Baseball announced today they would host a large tournament scheduled to begin on May 5, 2008, Cinco de Mayo. The Cinco de Mayo Invitational will be a single elimination tournament. The registration period begins today and will be open until May 4, 2008.  Players can earn their share of over $2,000 in prizes. Prizes include memberships to RotoWire.com and JRO High Performance Sunglasses from Elite Eyewear.
