Children's Week Guide

Posted May 6th, 2008 by Xerin

Children’s Week is a week dedicated to the orphans in both Azeroth and Outland. It’s a week of giving back to the less fortunate. It runs for one week and contains non-combat pets that are only available for the one week duration. Not only that but there is a large reputation reward for doing each quest!

Below is a walkthrough for each side:

Azeroth

Azeroth orphan quests are available starting at level 10 and take you to various low level landmarks in order to complete the quest. In total you’ll gain 1035 reputation with all four members of your faction along with one of three very detailed pets (or 5 gold). The quests can be completed as long as you have the orphan whistle. However, you’ll need to buy the ice cream in Thousand Needles at the raceway.

Stormwind Orphan Quest (Requires Level 10)

Speak with Orphan Matron Nightingale who is in Cathedral Square to obtain the “Children’s Week” quest. There will be a whistle in your inventory. Use it to spawn your orphan and speak with it. It’ll turn in that quest and give you three new ones. Accept all three. Fly to Westfall and visit the Haunted Lighthouse which is at the very bottom western side of Westfall. Spawn your orphan and turn the quest in. Next fly to Loch Modan.

In Loch Modan head to the very center of the Stonewrought Dam. That’s at the very northern edge in the center of the map. Spawn your orphan and turn the quest in. Then head back to a flight master and fly to Menethil Harbor in the Wetlands to take a boat to Darnassus. Go to the bank, spawn your orphan, and turn the quest in. Pick up the quest to obtain Jaina’s Autograph. If you’ve got the flight point to Theramore Isle then fly there, otherwise return to Menethil and get the boat there. Go to Jaina, spawn your orphan, speak with her, then pick up the quest “You Scream, I Scream…”. Return to Stormwind City and find Emmithue Smails who is between the mailbox and the inn. Buy some Tigule and Foror’s Strawberry Ice Cream and summon your orphan once more to turn the quest in. Return to the Orphan Matron to get your reward.

Orgimmar Orphan Quest (Requires Level 10)

Head to the Valley of Honor and find Orphan Matron Battlewail. Obtain the quest “Children’s Week” and use the whistle the quest gives you to summon your orphan. Turn the quest in and pick up three new ones. Now fly to the Crossroads and walk north towards Ashenvale until you arrive at the Mor’shan Rampart. Summon your orphan and turn the quest in. Walk back to the Crossroads and fly to Ratchet. Go to the docks and summon your orphan. Turn the quest in and then fly back to Orgimmar. Take a zeppelin to the Undercity and walk inside the throne room before the elevators. Not the throne room  in the Apothecarium, but the one at the very entrance to the Undercity. Summon your orphan and turn the quest in.

Now you’ll get a new quest to get Cairne’s Hoofprint. Take a zeppelin back to Orgimmar and fly to Thunder Bluff. In the eastern side of the lower rise you’ll find Cairne. Summon your orphan, talk with him, then talk to orphan to complete the quest. You’ll now have to do “You Scream, I Scream” so fly back to Orgimmar and go outside of the bank. You’ll find a goblin named Alowicious Czervik who sails Tigule and Foror’s Strawberry Ice Cream. Buy some and summon your orphan to turn the quest in. It’ll ask you to return to the Orphan Matron so do so for your reward.

Outland

The Outland orphan quests are started in the Lower City and grant one of three highly detailed pets, 88550 XP if you’re below level 70 or 7 gold if you’re level 70, 1760 Lower City reputation, and requires level 60. Each faction as their own set of quests but they all start with Orphan Matron Mercy at the eastern side of Shattrath City.

Alliance

Summon your orphan and turn the quest in and pick up three new quests. Leave out of Shattrath and head towards Auchindoun. Head to the center area where the meeting stone is and summon your orphan. Turn the quest in and head back to Shattrath. Fly to the Dark Portal in hellfire Penninsula. This one is tricky for me but stand on the stairs and summon your orphan. Move around some until the quest is complete and turn it in.

Next head to Aeris Landing in Nagrand (north of Oshu’gun). Summon your orphan, speak with Jheel, and then speak with your orphan to turn the quest in. Head back to Shattrath and take the portal to the Exodar. In the very center is a Naaru named O’ros. Stand in front of him and summon your orphan. Speak with him and turn your quests in until you’re asked to speak with Farseer Nobundo. He’s in the Crystal Hall. Speak with him and finish up your quests. Next head to the Caverns of Time. You can fly there from Darnassus or hop to Menethil and then to Theramore if you don’t want to spend too much time flying. Go to the caverns of time and stand in front of the massive dragon Zaladormu. Summon your orphan, wait until it finishes speaking, and then head over to Alurmi near the exit back up to Tanaris to buy a Toy Dragon for 1 gold. Turn your quest in to your orphan then head back to Shattrath of your reward.

Horde

Summon your orphan and turn you quest in to pick up three new ones. Next fly to the dark portal then stand on the stairs and summon your orphan. Wait until your orphan lets you turn that quest in and then head to Sporeggar in Zangarmarsh (western center area). There you’ll find Hch’uu. Summon your orphan and turn the quests in. Next up head to Nagrand to the Throne of Elements which is above Garadar. There you’ll find Elementalist Sharvak. Next you’ll be given a few more quests. Head to Shattrath and go to Silvermoon. There head to the Walk of Elders where the band is at. Summon your orphan and turn in the quest. Next head to the Caverns of Time in Tanaris. Fastest way there would be to hearth back to Shattrath and take a portal to Orgimmar and fly to Gadgetzan. Find Alurmi who really close to the exit back up to Tanaris and buy a Toy Dragon. Stand in front of Zaladormu and summon the orphan. Wait for the speech and turn your quest in. Now you need to go back to Shattrath to turn the quest in.

All in all the quests take 30 minutes to an hour depending on how well you can travel. The rewards are only available for a week and the reputation rewards are astounding. So there is little to no reason to embark on these fun filled quests that take you around the world with a cute orphan! Enjoy.
