Ten Ton Hammer's Warhammer Online Guild of the Month

May's Guild - After World

So there you are. Just made up your character and he/she looks cool. DAMN cool. You can't wait to get out there and play and level up! Oddly enough though, you start to find that the game gets boring for some reason. You log in and you're all alone, soloing or putting up with cheesy pick up groups just to get into some of the higher end content. You thought there would be more to Warhammer Online than just questing, ganking, and getting loot. This is where guilds come in. Guilds have many functions in MMOG's. They're a way to see higher level content. They're a means to get a chance at gear that you may not have ever seen othrwise. Most importantly, a good guild will become your online family. Full of friends you can't wait to jump online with and tackle the challenges of your game of choice.

We here at Ten Ton Hammer realize the importance of guilds in the world of MMOG's. That's why we're featuring a different Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning guild each month to give you a chance to get to know the different guilds of WAR and possibly help you find a group of like minded folks to make your gaming experience that much better.

This month, we introduce the hardcore RvR guild, After World!

What kind of guild is After World and what are they all about?

After World is a US based Destruction guild, We are a hardcore RVR guild dedicated to realm domination and accomplishing every aspect of WAR. We are a laid back group, we dont police our forums or our members with a bunch of mickey mouse rules, be respectful and listen to the mods and officer and you should be good.

In game we will be predators with an aggresive and determined attitude for winning that is absolute. I dont like waiting for a fight to get to me, so we will push forward to the fight and end it where we find it, then move on to the next fight.

In our downtimes, we will give our members a few funtime events to participate in to relieve any built up tension they may have within the guild ranks. Chicken runs are going to be one of our bigger pastime events, basically we will head to the teir 1 RVR zones with as many members as possible, get turned into chickens and try to peck low lvl order to death before they kill us all. Regardless how that turns out, 75 chickens pecking a lvl 5 dwarf in the ding ding is funny.

What other games have you been involved in and what sort of success have you seen in those games? What are the goals of After World in Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning?

After World was created specifically for Warhammer Online, we are not currently involved in other games as a guild. We do have small pockets of members that play other games but not with an After World tag, the only game we have a mini clan in right now is Team Fortress 2 and about 30+ members participate in that from time to time, nothing serious though.

Our goals in Warhammer are to dominate our realm by sacking capitals, sieging keeps, running the table in scenarios and occasionally dabble in some PVE content. We are commited to accomplishing these goals and rewarding our members for doing so often. We will try to have our guild ranked high on the leaderboard in as many categories as possible come release. While server firsts are always a good conversation piece, we feel that longevity at the top is a much greater accomplishment and that is what we are preparing ourselves for.

What sort of time commitment are you looking for from members per week? Are there level requirements or restrictions for members?

We do plan to maintain an active playerbase. Without giving a timeframe, players that do not log in often enough will surely be removed as we do not intend to reward dead weight (speaking of the living guild system), we will have a level requirement that must be met in the beginning unti we eventually migrate into a rank 40 only guild (or max rank only depending on future expansions) The minimum level requirement will not be a stressful one to maintain, anyone who logs in and plays the game actively should have no trouble staying far ahead of the required minimum level.

What level of importance do you place on the social aspect of your guild? Is After World all about the end goal or more about the people involved?

That's a loaded question, but we will dedicate the majority of our time to our members and the guild, getting our members the rewards they deserve for completing and contributing to guild functions. The living guild system will demand a lot of effort and time from our members, but will reward them for it as well and these are the things we will put at the top of our priorities list. The top of that list is our guild and it's members.

As we find some open time we will sponsor realm events geared towards helping out lower level people and smaller guilds that would like to accomplish certain things such as tagging a keep with their banner. If a guild, group or player would like to come along with us to certain events, we will be more than glad to let them help out, as long as there is room and we aren't in a planned event.

If someone wanted to join your guild, what would be the best way to do so? Who should they get in contact with? Do they need to be a part of the Warhammer Online Beta test to apply or can they apply prior to release?

After World is currently in a "selective" recruiting phase, to apply you would visit www.afterworldgaming.com/forums and submit an application (after registering and reading all the required information). Once submitted, myself and the officers will bombard the potential member with questions to check their activity, attitude, determination and gaming mentality. Once all questions are answered and we approve them, they become a trial member for a few weeks then a determination is made on their full member status based on their time on our forums as a trial member.

We do not feel that asking someone to actively monitor their application to our guild is a lot to ask, it shows that you are determined and willing to go the extra mile to get into our guild. Potential recruits that submit an app. and come back in a couple of days to review it may find their app. deleted, we are looking to have prompt responses to our questions so we can move forward with the process, as well as clear the application so other applicants cant read the answers someone else posted.

While we do have several current guild members participating in the beta, we do not require someone to be a beta tester to join the guild. What we do require is that each person that joins remain active and respectful on the forums until release. We are not removing people for inactivity on the forums (we will once in game) but their chance for advance within the guild goes inactive with them.
