Do people really fall for this? You'd think in this day and age we'd be more skeptical, even when contacted in-game. I know I am, at least, but I'm naturally cantankerous, ornery, and other 10-cent words.

Dear Players,

Tonight a ruthless player sent out several eve-mails, posing as a Customer Support representative, asking that players reply to him with their account username and password. The exact number of players he sent this to is unknown at this time. However, we urge all players to be aware of this issue.

CCP has never, and will never, ask you for your account password. You should always keep your password safe, and never share it with anyone, not even CCP representatives.

If you recieved this eve-mail, please submit an petition and ignore the eve-mail. There are, and always will be, individuals out there who will try to gain access to your account. If you come across someone asking for such information, petition it immediately so we can deal with the situation as fast as possible.

On a side note, it is always a good procedure to change your passwords regularly. Also, be aware of third party programs, key loggers and other programs that might be used to obtain your passwords.
