Incremental patches are one of the many things that make World of Warcraft such a great MMO. Bugs are fixed in a timely manner and we’re always given some extra content no matter how small the patch is. Patch 2.4.2 was full of bug fixes, class changes, and a little bit of extra content. Keep reading to find out the summary of what’s been changed.

When a new patch arrives most people want to know what’s changed that isn’t listed. Well 2.4.2 had quite a few undocumented changes that were just too small to make the list. One of the bigger changes that wasn’t listed was that there are new versions of the Medallion of the Alliance/Horde. The new versions are not only epic but includes 25 more resilience. Some LUA changes that are annoying a few mod authors were added. Gold, silver, and copper has a new way of being handled which broke a few mods by surprise. If your mods still work but you’re getting a weird error just head to options, interface, help, and then uncheck “Display LUA Errors”.

The daily quest “The Multiphase Survey” no longer gives a Shattered Sun Supply bag which is a shame considering how easy the quest is (but not a bad change considering just how easy it is). The cursor bug where your cursor would disappear if you stood too far away from a mob with a blue question mark above its head and tried to highlight it was fixed as well. Wretched Devourers (Isle of Quel’Danas) now drain A LOT less mana.

As for the patch notes a lot of things changed. Hunters got a buff to their Aspect of the Viper making it much more desirable now (at 70 you’ll gain an additional 24 mana every 5 seconds). Scare Beast is now instant cast giving Druids something to fear and making Hunter pets a big target to be feared now.

Mages can now portal and teleport to Theramore and Stonard making leveling much easier. This will make the lower levels a little bit easier on new Mages who can teleport southern Kalimdor/Eastern Kingdoms for the Alliance/Horde (respectively). Improved Blink was buffed slightly as well.

Arena teams trying to “sell ratings” will now find it harder to sell their arena points (as if getting banned wasn’t bad enough). If your personal rating is 150 points below your team’s rating then you’ll gain points based off of your personal rating. So a rank 2000 team isn’t going to give you massive points if your personal rating floats around 1,400!

Kael'thas is no longer immune to Taunt in normal mode.

Many profession items with cooldowns had their cooldowns decreased slightly. Not only that but the dragons patrolling Blade’s Edge Mountains will stop knocking you off your mount if you bump into them while flying. The infamous Goblin Jumper Cables are no longer a trinket making them much more useful.

Speaking of other useful additions… Kael’thas and Vexallus are no longer immune to taunt in normal Magisters’ Terrace. Though there is one change that is neither here nor there. Lots of reputation items are now bind on pickup. Not exactly important since the items require a certain level of reputation to even use.

There is more inside of the patch but that is the major highlights. If you’re interested in downloading the patch or reading the patch notes then view our patch download page where you can get the full patch notes and the patch as well!
