Tabula Rasa Boxing Ring: Inside the CELLAR

Updated Thu, May 22, 2008 by Taea

First Rule About AFS Fight Club is...

Player-run events are a big part of Richard Garriott's Tabula Rasa. One of the longest running is called Friday Night Fights, a hand to hand fighting tournament that began during the game's beta testing phase. Special guests from the NCsoft team frequently appear, including Critters, Sarah Morrison and General British himself.

With Deployment 8, the development team has released a brand new boxing ring to house this and many other special events! The Tabula Rasa community was called on to name the new arena, coming up with CELLAR: Coalition of Enlistees Likely Looking for Aggressive Retaliation.

A warning to players is displayed when zoning into the arena:

Welcome to the CELLAR arena. This recreational facility is not sanctioned or supervised by the Army of Allied Free Sentients. Enlisted personnel taking part in any events herein, do so at their own risk.

Inside, a vendor offers soldiers a plethora of Res Trauma kits for sale, along with a set of boxing gloves, padded helmet and boxing shorts. Customization is key, and special Boxing Gear paint is available as well. Fighting isn't for everyone, so the CELLAR has a VIP lounge to hang out and watch the ring from the observation deck.

The arena can be reached via several teleporters inside the barracks/footlocker areas of various AFS bases around Foreas and Areiki, making the arena accessible to soldiers of all pay grade.
