SWG Team Profile - EM Stock

Posted Thu, Jun 19, 2008 by Morvelaira

Meet the Community Manager Extraordinaire!

Meet EM Stock, a cheery looking woman working at SOE Austin, and celebrating her second year of association with SWG.

How long have you been working on Star Wars Galaxies?

I oversee community relations for the games being developed out of the Austin studio and SOE's Satellite Studios (SOE Seattle and SOE Denver). In April, I celebrated my two year association with SWG! I enjoy being a part of the project and truly believe that the game's current development team is one of the best I've ever had the pleasure of working with.

What types of things do you do in a typical day at work?

Unfortunately, none of my work days are typical! Basically, it's my job to make sure that all the Community Relations Reps and Community Managers for the games I oversee have everything that they need to provide the best service possible to customers internally (co-workers) and externally (players). A workday for me might consist of multiple meetings, conducting interviews for available community relations positions, fighting random 'fires' as they arise, meeting with my team about the status of projects, developing high level community initiatives, coaching/training team members on how to do certain aspects of the job, approving messaging or other content that is going to be released publicly and pushing team members to be the best that they can be and work outside their comfort zones so they can learn and grow professionally!
