Welcome to the 16th Issue of Clan Soup. We've got a lot of news from the guilds this week, so tie on that slurping bib. Without any delay, let's dive right into the pot and get our soup on.

Weekly Clan News

Teutonic Interdiction Is Now Team Short Bus - Teutonic Interdiction is no more! We have changed our name back to our old name of Team Short Bus! We thought we would give a new name a try but it failed so were going back with the old name. We have been growing steadily and have 2 towers, a keep, temple, and trade post up. Were still recruiting and looking for more members so stop by the site at Teutonic-Interdiction.com which will soon be TeamShortbus.net.

Question of the Week

This week, I asked a doozy of a question to our guilds. The dust is settling from launch, and now's when people either settle in or move on from the game. That said, here's what I begged of the Soup's Ingredients.

"It's been a month now. Is Age of Conan still the game for your guild, or are you moving on and why?"

Sol Invictus: Sol Invictus has left the game and is moving on. There are some people who are keeping the guild as a casual guild. But the core group have left it.

The reasons for leaving are two-fold for us.

  • To many bugs
  • Raids not working properly (bugged bosses, bosses not doing their skills, no instance lockouts (which allowed people to farm Yahkmar with 5 ppl)

Born In Chaos: BiC is LOVING EVERY MINUTE of this game. We have not only succeeded in settling in, but are thriving. We have all of the T1 buildings up, all of our inner wall, half of our outer wall and are saving all our gold up to begin T2 on our city. We have found ourselves again in the PVP that Conan has provided that no other MMO out there has offered us. It's the whole package. Great PVE, great PVP, great graphics...just an all around great game!

The Damned: Its been a short month to be honest for The Damned in AoC, players frantically levelling there characters in an effort to get to a level where grouping actually awards the players with anything decent. Our guild city is also up and running after completing the tier one buildings and walls although Funcom would be wise to place more NPC's and inhabitants around so it didn't look so sparse, as well as enabling the NPC guild cities and PvE sieges that have been mentioned.

There is still enough in the game for us at them moment to warrant at least another month or two of game play, the promise that the game shows is still far from delivering however with Lotro and WoW being fairly stagnant at the moment waiting for upgrades now is the time for Funcom to claim their stake of the market. If they can manage to sort the more important game play issues and bugs then Hyboria will become one of the games that The Damned lays guild foundations in. If not we'll move on to the next one in the hope that it delivers what it says on the box.

Team Short Bus - We are still enjoying it and like the progress there making with the patches. I'd say another month or so and well see vast improvements. We have most of our guild city up and the bus is starting to fill out with more dedicated members. Were really starting to see who is dedicated and who isn't.

Crimson Brotherhood - Age of Conan is still the game for Crimson Brotherhood. We are having a lot of fun with AoC and are progressing at a respectable speed. We understand how game launches can be, and most of us believe AoC to be one of the smoothest we've seen in a while. Yes, there are a lot of things that need to be fixed, but we are willing to wait for that to happen, because we are enjoying our time in game now. We look forward to being able to look back in a year or two and say, *Remember when....*

The Refugees - Hyboria remains very much in our plans. We have no intention of leaving. We realize that the Gods have taken to playing tricks upon the realms of late, and there are certainly issues to work through, but really, would King Conan himself have risen to the throne without having overcome obstacles? I think not.

Clan Optera - Clan Optera has had a great month in Age of Conan, with some of our members reaching end game and our tier 1 guild city completed. We expect bigger and better things to come. There are still a few detrimental bugs and fixes needed to be made with the game, and dozens of tweaks and adjustments to be made. Understandably, it can be very frustrating to play at times due to the current state of the game. But despite it all, we are very optimistic and plan to be around for many months to come. We are very happy with the game overall, and look forward to the changes and additional content/features to come.

Sanguiphoria - Sanguiphoria is more of a multi gaming platform where like minded individuals can play multiple games together. Some of the guild has moved on already. Most still love the game but are having a hard time finding time to play due to Summer obligations. I think like most MMO's on the market, games like AOC have a huge influx of players in the beginning and find an area where they level out a few months after release. If Funcom keeps the fixes and patches coming over the next couple months and slowly insert new content at the same time most of us will stick it out to see the game succeed.

Brotherhood of the Spider - Brotherhood of the Spider is going strong with 150+ active members, 72 of whom are level 80. We have completed all of the Tier 1 raid content, Have a complete Tier 2 city )including towers and walls) and are working on completion of our Tier 3 crafting buildings.

Since we are the only guild on our server to have a battle-keep we have not participated in any sieges, but we hope to do so this week.

We went into the game with a strong recruiting philosophy and it has served us well. Since 2 weeks before the game began we have not run any recruiting posts or tried to recruit using any method. We have received dozens of applicationss but only accepted a half a dozen.

Funcom definitely has some work to do on the game but Brotherhood of the Spider is here for the long haul.

Cleaning Up

That's it for this week folks. We're past the one-month milestone, and it seems that Funcom truly does have a hit on their hands, even if it's a bit rough around the edges. Just remember that all you have to do to have your clan highlighted is sign up to be a member of Clan Soup!

We're always accepting new members and all you have to do is follow the instructions found on this page.

Until next time, eat well fellow Hyborians!
