Runescape shows off the new look for the venerable F2P game.

Since release in 2001, Runescape, the free to play fantasy based MMO, has not had a significant upgrade to its visual appearance until now. A complete overhaul of the graphics is in place (titled Runescape HD) and available in a members-only beta. Of course this is a free to play game, so becoming a member is only a click (or two) away. To become a member, or read more of the technical specifications and improvements, you can find it all on the Runescape website.

Boasting over 130 million accounts, Runescape defines accessibility by being browser based. With a modest increase in minimum system specifications, the new Runescape HD should not leave too many of its core players in the dust. In fact, the listed specifications may be lower than those required to run Windows XP, let alone Vista.

If you want to look but not touch, you can view the differences between the previous game graphics and the latest and greatest on this video.
