Our first look at Runescape HD
As this browser-based MMO fires up your graphics card for the first time.
Jagex CEO Geoff Iddison takes the stage to celebrate the German localization of the game and introduce us to Runescape HD (HD for "High Detail", clever eh?) at Leipzig GC 2008. If you can't read the slides in the Apple Keynote presentation, no worries, neither could we (Europeans love them some verbose powerpoints). But we'll zoom in on a few of the screenshot comparisons to show how good a browser-based game can look if you throw in a little proprietary tech and a low to mid-spec graphics card (GeForce 3 or above) into the mix.
