Runes of Magic Dungeon Screenshots

Posted September 4th, 2008 by Cody Bye

Out of all of the screenshots that have been posted at Ten Ton Hammer recently, few have gotten more attention than those seen from Runes of Magic. With a similar sort of artistic style and approach to the game world as the epic World of Warcraft, Runes of Magic looks like it could truly take the MMOG marketplace by storm. Recently, the folks at Frogster Interactive dropped the Ten Ton Hammer staff five new screenshots, which we've posted for our viewers to enjoy. Check 'em out!

The world of Runes of Magic consists not only of vast and varied regions, but there are literally dozens of caves and mines in Taborea, reaching deep down below the surface of the earth. In the dangerous dungeons of Frogster’s ambitious fantasy online role-playing game, you can not only find gremlins and goblins, but far more dangerous creatures and monsters.

Taborea is a continuous persistent world even extending below the surface of the earth. But Runes of Magic offers instanced dungeons also, where parties of brave adventurers meet to complete special tasks or just to discover exciting places. Once in the dungeon, the adventurers are on their own in their battle against fierce bosses and their henchmen. Now it will be decided if the quest party is tactically suitable assembled and harmonizes to complete their quests. Extreme caution is advised, if the boss-mob has no level number, but displays a small crown instead. Those special bosses are extremely dangerous and many a brave soul has already lost their life trying to defeat them.

Runes of Magic not only offers static dungeons, but players will find dynamically generated dungeons as well, where new monsters and treasures are randomly generated every time a player enters (so called tile-based dungeons). The dynamic cave systems regenerate by random every time players re-enter and therefore can be discovered anew again and again. If the most dangerous group of monsters waited just behind the next corner during your last visit, they surely will be somewhere else next time and will carry different loot as well. So it always pays off to drop by more often without having to fear to be bored over time.
