Ten Ton Hammer's Warhammer Online Guilds of the Month

September's 1st Guild - Bullies

So there you are. Just made up your character and he/she looks cool. DAMN cool. You can't wait to get out there and play and level up! Oddly enough though, you start to find that the game gets boring for some reason. You log in and you're all alone, soloing or putting up with cheesy pick up groups just to get into some of the higher end content. You thought there would be more to Warhammer Online than just questing, ganking, and getting loot. This is where guilds come in. Guilds have many functions in MMOG's. They're a way to see higher level content. They're a means to get a chance at gear that you may not have ever seen othrwise. Most importantly, a good guild will become your online family. Full of friends you can't wait to jump online with and tackle the challenges of your game of choice.

We here at Ten Ton Hammer realize the importance of guilds in the world of MMOG's. That's why we're featuring a different Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning guild each month to give you a chance to get to know the different guilds of WAR and possibly help you find a group of like minded folks to make your gaming experience that much better.

This month, we introduce a Destruction guild that strives to meet a happy medium between family friendly and hardcore, without losing anything in between, say hello to Bullies!

Ten Ton Hammer: What kind of guild is Bullies and what are they all about?

Bullies: Bullies is a casual friendly, hardcore RvR guild. That is, we strive to be the best at what we do, but are trying to take a new approach to doing it. We want members to feel like they are in a small family guild while accomplishing the greatness of a large guild. Aside from how we want our members to feel, Bullies also strives to be a leader in the community by setting an example of what guilds can be. We do this by putting our faces out there in the community and breaking new ground with the way a guild is run.

Bullies has created an innovative crew system that ensures every single member in our roster is looked after by the guild. No member is left in the cold, or made to feel like they are just a name in a roster. We do this by creating custom Bullies swag for our members, and assigning some of our members to watch over others. Not in a Big Brother sense, but more of a helping, guiding hand. It helps permote the sense of community within the guild. If there is a great feeling of belonging within a guild that will reflect out in the general community.

Ten Ton Hammer: What other games have you been involved in and what sort of success have you seen in those games? What are the goals of Bullies in Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning?

Bullies: Bullies members come from a myriad of gaming backgrounds. We have members who know what a MUD is and have even played them. We also have professional gamers to casual members who have only played recent generation MMOs. Most of our gaming counsel have members that were GMs or Officers in top Guilds in games such as City of Villians, Vanguard, Everquest, and World of Warcraft. In the past our members have been very successful in their respective games of choice, and we are hoping to bring all of that past experience to Bullies in Warhammer Online.

As a guild we have asperations for greatness. We hope with all the knowledge and diverse players Bullies has assembled we will be one of the top Destruction Guilds on our server. Again, aside from in-game goals we desire to set an example for the communtity. We want to break away from that sterotype that great endgame guilds have to be run in a military manner to be successful. After all, this is a game, not a job. Everyone should be having fun no matter what they are doing.

Ten Ton Hammer: What sort of time commitment are you looking for from members per week? Are there level requirements or restrictions for members?

Bullies: We have expectations from members not requirments. We hope that our core members will be able to put in anywhere from 10 hours and up per week. We undestand that this is a game and any real life obligations should always take a front seat to pixels on a screen. So if members cannot always put in a large amount of time, we respect that.

We also do not place level requirments on members. Everyone levels at their own pace. It may take a bit longer for our roster to be full of max rank characters, but you can bet our members enjoyed the ride rather then being forced to rush to the top. There is a whole game to experience and we want members to experience it at their own pace. In the end we will all be in the same spot working toward the same goals.

We do have a few restrictions on members though. Have a good time and always be respectful to the community. Bullies does not have a place for people with large egos. We tell members to always remember that they are representing Bullies as a whole with every action they take. So yes, we do have a restriction, represent Bullies to the community as an upstanding individual.

Ten Ton Hammer: What level of importance do you place on the social aspect of your guild? Is Bullies all about the end goal or more about the people involved?

Bullies: Bullies is a melting pot of those two ideas. We place a great importance on the social aspent of the game. We want every member to feel like they are in a close knit community. If we are all going to play a game together, we should all get to know each other and have a great time doing so. After all, MMOs are social games by nature. We feel that if everyone knows each other and has a good time playing together our end goal will be that much easier to attain. We hope our members will want to log on to catch up with other members after a day at work, or being gone for what ever reason. Bullies fosters and encourages the social aspect of the game. By having that great social aspect in place we can attack endgame or any other goal the guild decides it wants to attain and have a blast doing so.

Ten Ton Hammer: If someone wanted to join your guild, what would be the best way to do so? Who should they get in contact with? Do they need to be a part of the Warhammer Online Beta test to apply or can they apply prior to release?

Bullies: Joining Bullies is not the grueling process that many other end game guilds employ. Bullies does not set up a dozen hoops for players to jump though. We only ask interested applicants read up about Bullies in our regiment thread on Warhammeralliance.com as well as the "About Us" section of our website. Interested applicants need only to apply though our Guild Portal Site. It also helps after someone applies to let us get to know them on our public forums. Posting is a great way to get to know members.

Our recruiting is never "Closed" but as we have fewer and fewer roster slots it does become harder to join Bullies. That said if someone applies and is not accepted it is never a flat no. We might just not have had the roster space at the time or were looking for a certain class. Bullies encourages interested applicants to apply again later if they were not accepted the first time around. Applicants are not required to be in the Beta Test of Warhammer. Anyone may apply at any time. Like I said however, as we close in on the launch of Warhammer our 120 member roster is all but filled. For the time being it is taking a spectacular application to get past our Recruiting Officer.

If anyone is looking to join a great community atmosphere, and a guild that will turn the endgame on its head, drop Bullies a line. We are always on the search for great people with great attitudes!
