age of conan get's a new game director.

A New Game Director

A change in management can often mean a change in game
direction. With former Age of Conan Hyborian Adventures Game Director
and Producer Gaute Godager stepping down and Craig Morrison stepping in
to fill the role we may get just that. Craig "Silirrion "Morrison was popular for
being very active in the Anarchy Online (AO) community. Craig would
often engage in long discussions with the community to explain a point
or get one across, but how will this affect Age of Conan? More
communication can never hurt, and sometimes a fresh pair of eyes is
good and can lead to some great advancements to the development of a
game.

Many people believe that under Craig Morrison Age of Conan
will only get better. One need only look at some of the post in his
Farewell Post to the Anarchy Online Community to be reassured of this
point. The entire thread is loaded with compliments.

(Congratulations on taking over such a high
profile project With all the good things that happened to AO under your
leadership, I see only green fields ahead for AoC. -Mastablasta)

(You will certainly be missed around here. I
hope this won't affect the development of AO negatively, as that would
be a shame. I am looking forward to the graphics update very much. Good
luck with AoC, they couldn't have picked a better team lead, and I'm
sure it'll be fun. - Hastuur)

Industry Experience

What does the new Game Director bring to the table in experience? Craig "Silirrion "Morrison has a wide range of experience in the IT and media Industry. Prior to joining the Funcom team he worked as an Operations Executive for the Telegraph Group where he handled operations, IT, and Customer Service. Craig has also worked with several aspects of the Gaming Industry such as Associate Editor at IGN's Vault Network as well as serving as Anarchy Online's Game Director and working with several community aspects with other games such as Dreamfall. All important experience to bring to the table when dealing with a community of gamers.

style="font-family: Hyborian;">Looking to the Future

Many players believe that when Craig Morrison took over as
Game Director for AO that it brought about a positive change to the
game. By reading the forums one can assume they believe the same will
be true for AoC. While our little corner of Hyboria is getting more
polished and better with each passing patch, this fresh pair of eyes
could send our little virtual world into a new golden age of sorts.

On that note we at Ten Ton Hammer would like to bid a fond farewell to
Gaute Godager and wish him the best in his future endeavors and offer a warm welcome to Craig "Silirrion "Morrison. We wish you the
best of luck in his new position as Game Director for Age of Conan Hyborian Adventures.
