Greenskin Public Quests, Chap. 2

Updated Tue, Dec 16, 2008 by Brokain

Not far from the tall spire of Mount Bloodhorn a team of clever Goblins had cobbled together a great sawmill, taller than any tree in the nearby Sharpthorn forest. They called this towering, rickety construction "Da war Maker". The foreman at the camp was Grokk, an ill tempered Orc with a penchant for punting Goblins when his foul mood got the better of him.

"Faster, lads!" bellowed Grokk at the train of Orcs carrying logs to the huge, buzzing saw. "Get dat wood in so we can cut it up! We need Lobbers an' siege towers to attack dat big stunty gate, an dem's is built wiv wood. You don't get enough, da Big Boss 'imself will have to come and set you right!"

Gathering ample supplies of lumber hadn't been easy for the Greenskins. The Sharpthorn Forest was infested with troublesome Spites, vicious forest creatures that didn't like Orcs intruding on their woodland domain. In the rocky passages of the north camp, a band of brigands calling themselves Dietrich's Dogs were constantly harassing the Greenskins, hoping to loot some of the shiny trinkets that the Goblins liked to carry. The only good news was the steady swarm of recruits from Skarzag's warcamp. Grokk had plenty of use for them.

"You slackin' off dere, Pidgush? Back to work or I'll feed you to da Boars!"

"Right you is, Boss!" The Goblin hopped to his feet and ran into the woods. A moment later, he emerged, squealing in pain. A small, four limbed creature had clamped its large jaws on the Goblin's rear. It looked like a bundle of twigs and leaves.

Grokk scooped the Goblin up as he ran past. "Wot's dis fing dat's tryin' to eat ya, Pidgush?"

"It's one of dem stick monsters, Boss! Dey's all over the forest, and some as big as an Orc! Every time da boyz cut down a tree, dey come after us!"

Grokk held the Goblin high in the air, then let him fall. A moment later, his boot smashed into the creature's backside and sent Pidgush screeching through the air, landing atop the pile of sawdust at the base of the tower.

Ironclaw Camp (Easy):

Location: Ironclaw Goblin Camp, Mt. Bloodhorn

Stage I: Kill 25 Dog Forces. Seems the Hummies are keeping the Ironclaw Gobbos from getting to Da War Maker to do their jobs, and you're going to put a stop to it by killing them. The human forces are located all over he area, but tend to concentrate in three areas. There's a camp as you come into the PQ, a camp up the hill, across from the Ironclaw gates, and a bunch of Dog soldiers that hang out in front of the Ironclaw gates themselves (make sure to wander around the Rock Lobber there, as it gives you a Tome unlock). The Dog Forces are standard mobs that are casters and witch hunter types. Finish up, move along, nothing to see here.

Stage II: 3 Dog Marauders and 20 Ironclaw Goblins arriving at the War Maker. Ok, so now that you've made a ruckus beating up on the Dog warriors, they call in their... well, dogs. The Dog Marauders are Standard class mobs accompanied by 2 Standard wolf type mobs per Marauder. These three mobs wander in specific paths along the road that cross over in the middle a bit, so you'll want to attack them at their furthest pathing point to avoid getting two groups on top of you. Also, there will be standard mob type Dog Reinforcements coming out of the woodwork for the next part of this Stage, so you will be getting adds whether you like them or not.

The second part of this stage involves you going into the Ironclaw camps and rousing those lazy little gits into action. The Goblins are lying around and hanging out all over the camp. All you need to do is click on them as if you were talking to them and they'll take off running. They respawn so if you have someone inside the camp running around and clicking on Goblins while another force is outside taking care of the Dog Marauders and Dog Reinforcements, then 20 of the Gobbos should make it to the War Maker in short order. If no one is doing anything, the Reinforcements will kill the Goblins and none of them will make it anywhere.

Stage III: Everet Webb. When you've finished that, Everet Webb comes out of the camp up on the hill and he's none too pleased with you interfering with the Dog soldiers efforts. Webb is a Champion class mob with a knockback and some pretty solid damage. Good healing is going to be a factor more than usual here, but he can be taken down pretty easily with enough people.

Loot Drops: Special items are dependent on the type of loot bag that is won, and your class. Every loot bag contains the tradeskill items and coins.

  • White Loot Bag: Rank 5 Chestpiece
  • Thick Glass Vial: Apothecary
  • Sallow Gall : Cultivation
  • Clean Tin Watering Can: Cultivation
  • Withered Peat : Cultivation
  • Coins

Sharpthorn Wud (Normal):

Location: Sharpthorn Wud, Mt. Bloodhorn.

Stage I: Kill 80 Tenacious Spites. As you cross the bridge from Chapter 1 into Chapter 2, you'll run right through this PQ making it easy to find. The Tenacious Spites are located throughout the forest on both sides of the road. They're standard type mobs, so they're easy pickings. Make sure that you're attacking Tenacious Spites though. There's another type of Spite closer to the edge of the woods off to the left where the PQ melds into just regular zone area with standard mobs.

Stage II: 10 Trees Chopped, 10 Vengeful Dryads. This sounds easier than it is. You can't chop just any tree, they have be specific trees that you can interact with. These are located on both sides of the road and may be deep into the forest. Once you actually start chopping down the trees, a new problem arises. When you chop down a tree, a Dryad appears and attacks the person who chopped the tree down. The Dryads are Champion class mobs, so if you're squishy this could be a tad problematic. Your group's tank can taunt them off you though, so just make sure they're close when you chop down the trees. This does have a time limit on it, so move fast

Stage III: Solaryn. This actually an easy fight. Solaryn has a few poison attacks, but nothing too extreme. She's a Dryad Hero class mob, but she's solo. As long as you have a few healers present, you're solid.

Loot Drops: Special items are dependent on the type of loot bag that is won, and your class. Every loot bag contains the tradeskill items and coins.

  • Thick Glass Vial: Apothecary
  • Sallow Gall : Cultivation
  • Clean Tin Watering Can: Cultivation
  • Withered Peat : Cultivation
  • Coins

Sharpthorn Rock Mine (Hard):

Location: Stunty Mountain, Mt. Bloodhorn

Stage I: Kill 80 Invading Vermin. As you enter Sharpthorn Rock Mine, you'll see a plethora of Squigs and Bats. These things litter the mine in such numbers that you really won't ever run out of things to kill and will probably get a few Tome unlocks in the process. They're your standard Squig and Giant Bat mobs, so they're not hard to kill

Stage II: Gather 30 Lobbing Rocks. Now you need to get some lobbing rocks, however now the the vermin have been removed, those danged stunties have taken their place! The lobbing rocks are located throughout the mine in piles. There's about four to each pile and there's usually 1-3 dwarfs just hanging around them. You'll need to travel the length of the mine to get them all as once you grab a group of rocks, they don't re-spawn.

Stage III: Kill 8 Irontoe Overseers. Seems that once you've grabbed the rocks (and killed several dwarfs in the process) the Overseers come out to see what all the hubbub is about. The Overseers are Champion class, tank type mobs that are located throughout the length of the mine. They're usually by themselves and stationary, but can be joined by wandering standard Dwarf mobs.

Stage VI: Onaar Irontoe, Hagruld Irontoe, Bilder Irontoe. Once you've taken out all the Overseers, these three pop up. Onaar and Bilder usually travel together, while Hagruld will path around on his own. All three are Hero class mobs with Hagruld being the Ironbreaker type, Bilder the Engineer type, and Onaar the Runesmith type. They path all around the mine, to include outside in the front entrance area. There are still regular Dwarven mobs throughout the mine as well, so adds can be a problem if you're not careful. It's best to try and take Hagruld down quickly on his own, then go after the other two, focusing on Onaar first.

Loot Drops: Special items are dependent on the type of loot bag that is won, and your class. Every loot bag contains the tradeskill items and coins.

  • White Loot Bag - White Rank 5 gloves
  • Thick Glass Vial: Apothecary
  • Sallow Gall : Cultivation
  • Clean Tin Watering Can: Cultivation
  • Withered Peat : Cultivation
  • Coins
