The night air was still and carried the scent of rain. A low bank of heavy clouds obscured the stars and moons, blanketing the land in deep darkness. From atop a high hill, Akrana and Urathos looked down upon the winking lights of a distant village.

"Nimosar," said Urathos in a voice that was soft, but tinged with menace. "The Shining Guard is using the village as a headquarters."

"Then we will raze it the ground and bury the bones of the traitors in ash," replied Akrana matter-of-factly.

Akrana turned and walked down the hill toward the Dark Elves' camp, and Urathos fell in behind her. The assassin was surprised that she had turned her back to him, especially after insinuating that he was a coward. He supposed that her mind was preoccupied with thoughts of the battle to come.

With Nimosar destroyed, the Shining Guard would be in disarray and their efforts to resist the invasion in the Blighted Isle would be broken. The High Elves would be forced to fall back to Chrace. It was a sound plan, but there were still too many unanswered questions.

Malekith's plan to weaken Ulthuan in advance of his invasion had been a complete success; as soon as the Phoenix King had set sail for the Empire with legions of his finest warriors, the Black Arks launched from Naggaroth. The Dark Elves had fallen upon the northern coast of Ulthuan with the fury of a breaking storm, beating back the depleted ranks of Prince Tyrion's defending army at every turn. Then, inexplicably, Lord Uthorin had called a halt to the advance and commanded his forces to break off the attack and march southward. The same was happening elsewhere, with the other noble houses.

What grand deception was at work? Why were the Lords of Naggaroth driving their armies southward with such urgency? What prize were they racing toward?

The assassin was stirred from his musings by the sight of a small blue flower. Urathos slipped the dagger slowly from his belt, and Akrana's head turned slightly to one side. Suddenly, she spun about, a long, curved knife in her hand.

"Try it, assassin, and I will see to it that you never again enjoy the company of women."

Urathos' mouth curled into a wry smile as he knelt to the ground and used his blade to cut the stem of a small blue flower. He stood and offered the blossom to Akrana.

"The Lathranoi flower is the root of the poison called manbane. Even a small dose will prevent any wound from healing. A tiny scratch will, given time, cause its victim to bleed to death. For an assassin, this flower is more precious than any stone or glimmering trinket."

Akrana's eyes narrowed. "Return to camp and tell the soldiers that we attack before sunrise."

Mistwood Grove:

width="200" border="0">

Stage I: Kill 75 Venomroot Sprites. The area is Venomwood Sprites which by yourself can be a great source of influence but if you are trying to complete this PQ, bring friends or this could take you a very long time. These guys are only level 4 so better yet bring some AoE and do it much quicker. These will slowly respawn but with time or enough help this stage will be over before you know it.

Stage II: Kill 8 Venombough Dryads. Now that you pissed off the forest sprites, they've decided to throw something a little heavier at you. These level 4 Champions aren't an excessive challenge but most classes won't be able to solo them. They don't do anything out of the ordinary so killing them should be a breeze with another person.

Stage III: Branchwraith Ylrisae Well now you've done it and the forest isn't playing around anymore. Say hello to Branchwraith Ylrisae who is pretty much a big Unicorn who wants you dead. If you have issues killing a sweet little innocent unicorn you a) have the option of letting him kill you and b) rolled the wrong race my friend. This level 4 Hero con has a ton of hitpoints and utilizes some mild AE's and occasional knockback to keep you on your toes. A full group of level 4's or half group of level 5's should be able to make semi-quick work of him.

Loot Drops: Special items are dependent on the type of loot bag that is won, and your class. Every loot bag contains the tradeskill items and coins.

  • White Loot Bag - White accesory
  • Thick Glass Vial: Apothecary
  • Sallow Gall : Cultivation
  • Clean Tin Watering Can: Cultivation
  • Withered Peat : Cultivation
  • Coins

Nimosar:

Location: South of the Quest Hub

Stage I: Kill 100 Nimosar Guardians. This is a fairly straight forward requirement to meet. See the dozens of guys standing around these buildings? Kill them all. If you are solo or find significant challenge bear in mind these guys are packed into this area like Sardines. Pulling from just outside will be just as effective. This is a great spot to grind influence if you are in need of some.

Stage II: Destroy 12 Braziers. Now you have no choice but to move in and take out 12 braziers which are placed throughout the area. There is at least one champion con guarding each and a few other single targets which can be easily dispatched. The braziers can be hit at range without aggroing what's around it but this may take awhile so gauge your ranged DPS before attempting it and watch your timer. It's much faster to take out the Champions.

Stage III: Kill Erinas Songlbade and 4 Nimosar Siverhelms. You've slaughtered a bunch of High Elves and knocked over their braziers setting the woods on fire. They've decided to call in the cavalry which in your case means Erinas Songblade who is a level 9 Hero and four of his friends who are also level 9 but solo targets. Taking out the solo Silverhelms will reduce the amount of DPS on your group and is advisable while someone tanks the Hero. The Hero has a lot of hitpoints but nothing out of the ordinary besides a simple AE. Whittle him down and you'll have completed this PQ.

Loot Drops: Special items are dependent on the type of loot bag that is won, and your class. Every loot bag contains the tradeskill items and coins.

  • Massive Loot Bag - Purple Belt Armor
  • Major Loot Bag - Blue Rank 5 Weapon
  • Lesser Loot Bag - Green Rank 5 Boots
  • White Loot Bag - White Rank 5 gloves
  • Thick Glass Vial: Apothecary
  • Sallow Gall : Cultivation
  • Clean Tin Watering Can: Cultivation
  • Withered Peat : Cultivation
  • Coins

The Watchtower:

Location: Menarhain, south of the quest hub

Stage I: 100 Adepts Slain. Tons of high elves are standing around these ruins so just pick one and go to town. 100 will make this a great place to grind your influence but if you work just around the structure be warned the Archmage Lithorial, who is conincedentally your last objective, wanders in a circle around it. He's a level 9 Hero and far from something to poke at if you are in a smaller group. Pull from the outside and grind this objective down to move on.

Stage II: Place 6 Conduits and Keep 4 Sorceresses Alive. This objective has confused a number of people because the PQ information isn't really clear what it wants you to do. First and foremost you must make sure the local mobs don't kill the 4 Dark Elf Sorceresses that appear on the east side. They will give you conduits that must be placed in 6 different locations before the time runs out. Each location is guarded by a level 9 Champion. Once again watch out for Lithorial as he paces around with obviously nothing else to do. Once all six have been placed this will move you on to the final stage of the Public Quest.

Stage III: Kill Archmage Lithorial. Assuming that you've been patient and haven't killed him already just for convenience, this is a level 9 Hero healer archtype. He has a lot of hitpoints but fortunately doesn't do much out of the ordinary. Bring enough DPS and a healer and you should be able to take care of him with little effort. Once he is dead all that remains is to determine the winners of the PQ loot and start things all over again.

Loot Drops: Special items are dependent on the type of loot bag that is won, and your class. Every loot bag contains the tradeskill items and coins.

  • Thick Glass Vial: Apothecary
  • Sallow Gall : Cultivation
  • Clean Tin Watering Can: Cultivation
  • Withered Peat : Cultivation
  • Coins
