The Past Week in Warhammer Online

Your Heavy Metal Questions Answered!
Heavy Metal is coming, and you had better be ready. Beginning Tuesday, November 18th, this second Live Event will hit the servers with a vengeance. Be ready to log in daily to complete the required task of the day, and earn points towards the special event rewards. Why should you care about these prizes? Take a look at these Level 2 Reward Cloaks:

Now tell me that you don't want one of those bad boys on your back! They are both pretty awesome, but I'm seriously considering converting to Destruction-ism for the reptile skin version. The other two rewards are a shiny Trophy, or the chance to play a Knight of the Blazing Sun or Blackguard one week early. That early class unlock is only for the dedicated players that log in every day during the event. Any other questions you have are likely answered in the Grab Bag #5 that Mythic published this past week.

Meanwhile, on the Other Side of the Ocean...
This week Mythic Entertainment announced a partnership with Hangame, that will bring the WAR to Korea. Everyone knows the Asian MMOG market is huge, so this move can only mean good things for the game we love. In Europe, GOA brought word that players on their servers would have access to free character and guild transfers soon, to help balance out the population. The EU site also saw the birth of their very own Realm War site, which will give players access to the same Character, Guild and Server stats that North American users have had all along.

FAN-tastic Entertainment
There were plenty of player-made entertainment contributions this week. The WARP 09: The Orc Behind the Mask Podcast made its way onto the scene with talk of Witching Night experiences, Tome unlocks and RvR tips galore. An interactive comic and fan fiction story follows a surly Dwarf and grumpy Witch Hunter into the Marshes of Madness. The Warpath Podcast #6: For the Emperor! talk about the past Live Event and the one to come, and discuss the new Knight of the Burning Sun class.

The Herald announced the winners of the official Halloween contest, showcasing photos of some amazing costumes and pumpkin carvings. Congratulations to those who won a WAR prize pack from Mythic!

Patches? Yes We Want Some Stinkin' Patches!
The Warhammer Online servers got their continuing doses of patches Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Renown merchants were added to the cities in the main merchant areas. No more running all the way out to the Guild Taverns is necessary (although, I found the Devastator shoulder piece was not up for sale outside). Rally Masters have been assigned to all war camps; now if they could just recruit a few more Flightmasters. Certain over-used Scenarios were adjusted to not pop as often, hoping to add a bit more variety to the Renown point grind. Electromagnet and Chaotic Rift were nerfed, making Engineers and Magus' shed a few tears. The new Test server wasn't left out of the fun, as the class abilities re-write continued on.

It's My Party
If you're reading this Monday, then have one on me. It's my Birthday, and I'm celebrating by out-leveling my friends while they are trapped in their offices. Hurray for those of us that work at home! My first gift came from my good friend Leahme of Thorgrim's Exiles on the Monolith server (formerly known as Calamitous Intent before the character transfers). She made the awesome banner that now headlines this weekly feature. Did you forget to send me a present? I'll let it go this time if you forward some screenshots, fan art, fiction and other exciting Warhammer Online links to taea@tentonhammer.com.

Tip of the Week

Directly from Grab Bag #5 comes this week's Tip of the Week. Your backpack can sort items according to certain classifications, to make the giant mass of incoming loot look a lot more organized. By clicking the arrow on the right side of the backpack window, you can choose which type of items will drop in that bag. The choices are: Weapons, Armor, Potions, Crafting (Cultivating, Apothecary, Talismans or Salvaging), Misc (Accessory, Dye, Talisman or Trophy), Usability (Currently Usable, Will be Usable, Never usable) and Rarity.

Ten Ton Hammer Works For You

He's back! Coyote has returned with another edition of his tongue-in-cheek WAR guides, Coyote's Ultimate Guide to WAR Part 3 - Empire vs Chaos.  It's always fun to see just how many people he can offend, before they fall over laughing, of course. Let's tally up the carnage:

1. Bright Wizard - "He dresses like a signal flare."

2. Warrior Priest - "
Nothing says "believe in the peace and mercy of our lord" like getting smashed in the kisser with a big frickin' hammer."

3. Witch Hunter - "The Witch Hunter is only a rebel flag and a few snake dances away from being exiled to Alabama."

4. Knight of the Blazing Sun - "
Your best bet is to hit them hard and hit them fast, or at least get them to remember painful memories of their days as Altar boys of Sigmar..."

5. Chosen - "Unfortunately, most of that size, durability, and strength comes in the form of cancerous tumors that make it REALLY hard to pee."

6. Magus - "Voldemort was TOTALLY a Magus."

7. Zealot - "The Zealot is the stalker ex-girl friend of the Raven God who refuses to admit that they broke up and have agreed to start seeing other people."

8. Marauder - "They can turn their arms into tentacles straight out of a weird Japanese anime porn."

Ten Ton Hammer never sleeps, as the following articles prove.  Check out the latest in our ever growing collection of guides, interviews and more!
