Here is a map to help you find your place.

Guide

Runeforge

Starting from where we left off (click here to return to the previous page), you'll be complete with a large group of quests. Prince valanar will ask you to go speak with Gothik the Harvester who resides at the middle tip of Death's Breach around some very spooky surroundings. Just head over to him and chat him up a bit. He'll give you the quest The Gift That Keeps On Giving which will instruct you to go into the nearby mine and use [Gift of the Harvester] to collect five ghouls.

Runeforge

This is easier than it sounds. Just go into the mine (located left facing Gothik or just open your map and find it) and throw the item on the ground near a miner. They'll either turn into a ghost or a ghoul. As you gain more ghouls it'll become easier to fight the ghosts. Some say that going into combat with the miners will increase the chance that they'll turn into ghouls but to be honest I don't know if that's true or not.

Return to Gothik once you have 5 ghouls (just manually count them). If you return before you have all five he'll still take them and throw them into the pit, but you'll have to go back to the mine without your friendly undead warriors.

Runeforge

Afterwards Prince Valanar will be your next target. An Attack of Opportunity. He'll hand you Massacre At Light's Point which will tell you go to an Outhouse outside the mine. If you remember where the mine is then just follow the road until you get to this point. You'll see a mine cart (the one in front of me is the one you want) and can just hop right on inside.

Runeforge

The mine cart will automatically take you to the boat past the massive amount of aggressive mobs. DO NOT GET OUT, DO NOT GO NEAR THE MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF ANGRY CRUSADERS. There will be a lot of them and they're angry. The boats are way safer than the land and there is a special way to get back. Anyway you'll eventually arrive at the boat.

Runeforge

In front of you will be a lot of turrets. These are new siege weapons in the game. Simply right click to get into a turret.

Runeforge

Siege Weapons work a little differently than you're used to. You'll have an action bar that'll allow you to use three spells. The first one is a ranged attack, the second one is a PBAoE, and the third ability returns you to Death's Breach. Do not use the third one until the quest is over. You can aim the seige weapon by using mouselooks (left click and point) or by using your arrow keys. The mouse is easier for me.

Runeforge

Spam the "1" key or click like mad on the icon while aiming to destroy the crusade's forces. You'll need 100 enemies before you can leave with a quest complete but it won't take long. If any get up close to you then use the second ability to fry them. You can use this to your advantage by aiming at the entrance and shooting them before a large group gets to you. Once you're done press the "Return to Death's Breach" button.

Runeforge

You'll fly back to Death's Breach where you'll be told that you've now secured the nearby area. Congratulations on a job well down. Victory at Death's Breach will send you back into Ebon Hold (just grab a bird and fly back in) where The Will of the Lich King will take you right back to Death's Breach. Just fly in, talk to Mograine, then fly back down and talk to Prince Valanar. Things will be changed a good bit.

Runeforge

Valanar will be pretty happy to send you on your way with The Crypt of Remembrance. This will lead you to the crypt a little bit past where you've been questing to find Prince Keleseth. On the way pay Noth the Plaguebringer a visit and grab his three quests. We'll be working on them soon.

Runeforge

There are no more enemies on the way. Just head straight for the crypt. See the map earlier to see where its at.

Runeforge

Noth will give you a quest called Noth's Special Brew. Pick up all three of them. If you find Noth then you're really close to the crypt.

Runeforge

Once inside the crypt go ahead and turn in the crypt quest and pick up Lambs to the Slaughter and Nowhere to Run and Nowhere to hide.

Alright we now have multiple goals. Noth's quest will have you obtain a cauldron, a chain, and some skulls. Lambs to the Slaughter wants 10 soldiers and 15 citizens. Nowhere to Run wants maybor Quimby and a scroll. Let's organize this in the easiest way possible. The soldiers are all through New Avalon and the easiest ones are at the entrance. We'll probably have to dispatch a few on our way around so we'll leave that one for last. The citizens are outside of town hall and the scroll is inside. So head to town hall first. It's the big human town hall building.

Runeforge

You can see town hall to the right, the keep is to the left, and the tavern is straight ahead. Remember this. Anyway go to the right to the town hall.

Runeforge

This quest is real simple. Just walk in there and kill the mayor (he's really easy) and pick up the scroll nearby. So simple. Outside will be a ton of citizens. Just kill 'em all. They might get a guard or two on you, but that shouldn't be a problem. Next remember where I pointed out a tavern above? Head there and go into the basement.

Runeforge

Here is the cauldron. Just snag it, there shouldn't be a lot of enemies in the area. There might be a few citizens about. There might not. I wouldn't count on it for the quest goal if the area is busy. Anyway head out and go to the forge. The forge is right up against the wall into the town. You can't miss it.

Runeforge

Inside the forge you'll find the chain (it's the glowing thing on the wall). Snag it. Now head to the entrance of town and finish up your soldiers. You just need ten of them and you'll have a few already. The entrance is the best spot because they're always respawning and the ghouls will be a big help in speeding through it. Seriously.

Once you have all three quests completed (the skulls will come as you fight everything) then head on back and turn it all in. I would highly suggest a good stretch about now.

The conclusion is coming soon. Until then return to our Death Knight Guide.

Want to add something to our Death Knight guide? Do you have an article just waiting to leap out from your computer to the World Wide Web? We'll we can help you share your knowledge with other Death Knights out there!

Here is what needs to be done and some basic rules:

  • The article should be in doc, docx, rtf, or html format. Other formats can be accepted, but those are generally the easiest. No HTML formating is needed.

Nice solid guide, thanks for putting it together.

Here are a few thoughts as I read through it:

Would be nice to see some Tanking and 2H talent builds, I didn't look at the Blood build but both Frost & Unholy you had DW builds.

For racials, the biggest appeal for a Night Elf is Quickness, and for the min/maxer's out there this is the reason why NE's are the best Alliance tanking race over Dwarves.

Human racials

Hi, good guide, I just have to respectfully object to this:

Humans have the weakest set of racials, except when it comes to grinding for reputation.

That may have been true at one time, but nowadays, humans come with Sword Specialization (+3 expertise) and Every Man for Himself (free PVP trinket without using the trinket slot? yes please!). Add to that the aforementioned Diplomacy (+10% rep gains) and you have a solid basis to push all the way to 80.

Xerin, I'll compile some DK builds for addition to the guide if you want. I know they're making changes at the moment for 3.1 so I might wait until those start to settle out a bit, but that would probably be helpful to people.
