Ymir's Pass Quests Guide - Clan Maugh Encampment

Quest Table

Ymir's Pass is an area ripe with conflict and turmoil. Upon entering this new area you will encounter an earthquake that will give you your very first quest for the area. This will lead you south to your first quest hub known as the Clan Maugh encampment. This small encampment is home to many interesting personalities like Skudd, the not so bright barbarian who only wants to fight. Unfortunately, when this barbarian goes into battle, he tends to fall into a berserker frenzy that endangers everyone around him. He might be willing to reward someone that can convince the Chieftain to let him fight once more. Just be careful as you might have to take on the role of fighting babysitter.

This quest hub will familiarize you with the area to the north and some of the east. When you are ready, there are other encampments that can show you the more dangerous side of Ymir's Pass like the Aesir Encampment to the north and the Mercenary Encampment to the northeast.

 

The Murmurs of the Earth

I. Murmurs of the Earth
Quest Details
When you enter Ymir's Pass you will experience an earthquake and hear a loud roar. This will give you your first quest for the area. You will need to proceed down the path to 367, 151 and speak with Clan Maugh Veteran.

Quest Details
The guard is more than reluctant to believe anything is going on. He will point you to the local madman named Gaven. He can be found at the Clan Maugh encampment just up the hill from the guards location at coordinates (394,143).

Quest Details
Gaven will tell you that he has seen a giant god walking in the swamp to the northeast. This is why his clansman believe he is a madman. You will need to investigate the swamp for evidence of the giants existence and prove Gaven is not insane. You can find the footprint in the swamp at coordinates (662,347)

I. A Menial Mission
Quest Details
The Caden Chieftain will be reluctant to trust you with anything relating to the battle within Ymir's Pass, so he will turn you into an errand boy by assigning you a task to collect a few items from the destroyed farms to the west. Make your way down the path and to the ruined farms. You can find the farms near coordinates (283,174).

Quest Details
After locating the farms you will need to collect 5 items for the Caden Chieftain. Collect these items scattered around the various farms and return them to the Chieftain.

Now that you have collected the items make your way back to the Clan Maugh and give the items to the Caden Chieftain. Once you return the items the Chieftain will still be reluctant to trust you, but he will tell you to speak with Geir for more work. Geir can be found at the campfire next to the Chieftain.

I. The Safety of Settlement
Quest Details
Geir will enlist your aid in scouting Atzel's bandit camps and try to find a way to disrupt their activities within Ymir's Pass. The first camp can be located at coordinates (261, 563)

II. The Bare Necessities
Quest Details
After locating the first bandit camp that is tucked securely within a small mountain region, you will need to alleviate Atzel's men of their supply cache. What you need to do here is pull a Yogi Bear and steal their picnic basket. Steal 3 of their food and drink kegs from the surrounding area near (134, 594) .You can manage to collect most of these items with minimal combat but you will need to do some fighting within the camp.

III. Locating the Lances
Quest Details
The next task on your disruption spree is to locate the bandit supply camp housing their arsenal. The next camp can be found along the path to the north at coordinates (410,743).

IV. Appropriating Arms
Quest Details
Once you have located the camp you will need to alleviate the enemies of their weapons cache. Collect 4 of the arsenal and destroy 2 of the weapons crates. Be prepared to meet resistance within the camp as a variety of enemies guard this small supply post.

V. Watching the Woods
Quest Details
Now that you have plundered the weapons your next task is to locate the enemies woodcutting camp. This can be found just south of the arsenal camp at coordinates (513,644).

VI. Atzel's Wood
Quest Details
Once locating the Woodcutter Camp you will need to confiscate the enemies supply of wood. Gather 2 of their piles of wood to add to your collection of pillaged goods. You can gather these piles rather easily as the only thing between you and them are a few Atzel Woodcutters who can be avoided if you're sneaky enough.

VII. The Final Destination
Quest Details
Your last destination on the road to creating chaos is the enemies Forest Camp. You can find the camp to the west at coordinate (345,494).

VIII. Blaze the Trail
Quest Details
Your final act of chaos is to burn down 3 of the enemy tents at the Forest Camp. There are a few guards around but you can avoid combat by approaching the tents from the rear and setting them ablaze.Do the deed and return to Geir to collect your payment.

IX. A Raider's Report
Quest Details
Now that you have left a blazing trail of chaos in your wake and disrupted the enemies supply efforts you will need to return what you have collected to Geir. You can find Geir at the Clan Maugh encampment at coordinates (441, 168).

Quest Details
Geir will have you deliver the wood you stole during your campaign of chaos against Atzel's men to his father the Caden Chieftain.

II. A Guiding Light
Quest Details
The Caden Chieftain has devised a plan to use the wood you stole to light a signal fire for the other members of the clan who were scattered around the land from the attack to see. This will allow the others to know more of the clan has survived. Take the wood to the watchtower that has been overrun by Atzel's men at coordinates (318,510) and light it afire. When you reach the tower you will need to fight past a few guards. Inside the tower are two climbing points each requiring a 100 in climb skill to get up. Climb these two ladders to reach the pyre at the top and use the wood there to start the signal fire.

III. A Spark in Darkness
Quest Details
After setting the signal fire for all to see make your way back to the Chieftain (414,154) and report your success.

I. Missing Daughter
Quest Details
After performing a couple of tasks for the Caden Chieftain he will tell you his daughter in a fit of rage over the attacks took up her battleaxe and headed north to meet the enemy head on. Since then she has not returned and the Chieftain is concerned for her safety. Guess who just volunteered for a suicide search and rescue mission. Speak with Geir about his sister to advance this quest.

II. A Sibling Rivalry
Quest Details
Geir believes his sister headed north into the snowy regions of Ymir's Pass to drive their enemy into the snow. He suggest you look to the north for signs of her whereabouts. Deep within an enemy camp you will find Ula staked to a tree (151, 178). Ula will be barely alive and make one request of you before she slips this life and enters Crom's Halls: Vengeance.

III. Bathed in Blood
Quest Details
Before Ula's death she asked you to slay her torturers and paint the Threshold with blood. You will need to slay 10 Atzel Torturer's and use their blood to paint the Threshold. You can find the Torturer's around the camp where you fond Ula at coordinates (186,780). Once you have all the blood you need make your way down to the enemy tower threshold at coordinates (472,367). Be prepared to fight your way in as there will be guards posted in and around the area.

Quest Details
Now that you have avenged Ula's death and painted the enemy threshold with the blood of the fallen you have one last task to perform. Deliver the grim news of Ula's death to the Caden Chieftain (414, 154).

The Calm Before the Storm

In the Clan Maugh camp there is a huge barbarian named Skudd. This very large and not so bright barbarian wants only to fight his enemies, but the Caden Chieftain will not permit him to join battle. You will need to speak to the Chieftain and see if you can convince him to let Skudd fight.

II. A Time to Rage
Quest Details
After volunteering to let Skudd fight with you the Caden Chieftain will reluctantly agree. Inform Skudd of the good news and prepare to take Skudd into battle.

III. Battle Plans
Quest Details
Skudd is happy that you have talked the Chieftain into allowing him to split some skulls. When you're ready, meet Skudd by the edge of the village at coordinates (338,134).

IV. Leading Men to Battle
Quest Details
Once you meet Skudd you will need to lead the big lummox into battle. Skudd is a little quick to dive on enemies so keep an eye on him. You need to make sure Skudd gets a taste of battle but that he lives to tell about it as well. Escort Skudd through Atzel's men around coordinates (273, 159). Follow the path as Skudd assaults every enemy you come across.

V. A Taste of Victory
Quest Details
After a few battles Skudd will run off leaving you on your own. You will need to head back to the Clan Maugh encampment and see if Skudd has shown up there. Luckily, Skudd will have arrived safely back at camp. It seems he suffered a blackout and went into a killing frenzy and all he can remember is waking up with an arm in his mouth. Enough said. He will offer you the prized Fleshy Club as a reward for letting him fight once more.

The Rhino Man

I. A Liar's Pet
Quest Details
There is an old man in the Clan Maugh encampment named Finnric who has traversed the world and seen many things. He brought back a prized Rhino that ran away as he came closer to camp. Now none of the Clan will believe he had such a creature. You will need to search for proof of Finnric's Rhino and return it to him so that he can die with dignity. What's left of Finnric's Rhino can be found at coordinates (406,1083). To reach the rhino will be a bit tricky, you will need to head into the northern mountains where the Yeti's roam and from there head east. You will come to a small area where there are several wolves and Frost giants. If you look down the mountains edge there will be a small path leading down into a small canyon below the mountains. The remains of the rhino can be seen from atop and what's left is being gnawed on by two Snow Leopards. Collect the Rhino's horn and return it to Finnric.

I. The Crimes of War
Quest Details
The invading Atzel forces have dishonored the memories of the brave Cimmerians who died fighting them by cutting off their heads and using them for ornamental decorations. The Cimmerian shaman, Runasta has enlisted your aid in retrieving the desecrated heads and giving them a proper burial. You can find the heads on pikes to the north of the Clan Maugh encampment. Be ready to fight your way along the path to reach the heads.

The Vale of Lost Women

I. Caravan of Debauchery
Quest Details
A Shemitish merchant named Naqada will ask you to search Ymir's Pass for his missing harem girls who were stolen by Atzel's bandits. Seek out the 12 missing girls and free them from their captivity. The women can be found at various bandit camps throughout Ymir's Pass.

Find Hannash, Kaliti, Hisha, Ashtirea, Shadaqie, Sharonn, Argirse, Nirah, Elami, Ramesha, Niqqiri, and Nazrin

Additional Details
  • Hannash can be found at (192,383) under a small tent. You will need to dispose of several guards to reach her.
  • Sharonn can be found at the top of the tower in the Atzel encampment at coordinates (498,387). Reaching her will require a lot of fighting as you have to fight into the camp and then up the tower.
  • Ramesha can be found in the watchtower sitting on the hill at coordinates (317,500). There will be a few guards to eliminate and one boss named Shapi-Shuki who stand watch over here.
  • Elami can be found at a small camp at coordinates (432,565). She is pretty easy to reach and only has 3 guards nearby.
  • Hisha can be found in one of the supply camps at coordinates (141,601). There are several guards around her but you can evade many of them and there is one boss in the tent to the left of her.
  • Kalitia can be found at the bandit camp that sits on a hill just above the Wheel of Pain at coordinates (433,725). There are a few guards and a patrol near her.
  • Niqqiri can be found at the camp just beneath where Kalitia is and just north of the Wheel of Pain at coordinates (418,700). There are a lot of guards around her so it will take a few fights to reach her.
  • Shadaqie can be found inside the watchtower at coordinates (628,759). There will be several guards patrolling the area and one boss inside the tower called Ingram.
  • Nirah can be found in the camp where you found the Chieftain's daughter Ula at coordinates (162,754). You will have to deal with a lot of enemies along the path to her and in the camp.
  • Nazrin was killed and her body can be found at coordinates (365,879).
  • Ashtirea can be found in the tower to the east at coordinates 724,576. Luckily, she is lightly guarded.
  • Argirse can be in the basement of the tower found in the bandit camp at coordinates (957,459)
II. All Accounted For
Quest Details
Once you have found and freed all of the Harem girls return to Naqada and inform him of what has transpired. Naqada will be ungrateful for all your work and refuse to give you any sort of reward since his women did not return, so all you get out of all of this is experience.
