For anyone worried about how World of Warcraft's latest expansion Wrath of the Lich King would fare in these dire economic times, you may rest easy. According to a press release from Blizzard, they have beaten (to a bloody pulp) the single day sales record making it the fastest selling game of all time. They sold 2.8 million copies in the first 24 hours which is above and beyond the 2.4 million they sold with Burning Crusade.

Kudos to Blizzard for the success, and even more kudos for the impressively smooth launch.
