A Smooth Criminal: Guide to Brigands 01.15.07

Updated Fri, Jan 02, 2009 by Savanja

A Smooth Criminal

Thug, outlaw, criminal. These are common terms describing the Brigand. Known not for their finesse or skill, but brutal force and subtle illusions, this class is a powerhouse of damage. Unlike many other scout classes who use songs and stealth to cause damage, the Brigand is an in your face bringer o' death. Using stuns, positional attacks, damage over time, and debuffs they make one of the best DPS (damage per second) classes in the game. If you didn't understand all that, don't worry, we'll cover it in a bit.

Let's face it, Brigands are evil, so it's no surprise you'll be starting in the filthy streets of Freeport or in one of the newers cities of Neriak or Gorowyn. If that is a problem for you, you'll have to start up one of those fancy pants swashbucklers.

Who is this class for? Primarily it's for someone who enjoys being in the middle of the fight, and can focus on the environment around them. You'll need to work closely with the tank to make sure encounters are positioned correctly and you don't pull extras unintentionally. You'll also be able to intervene to save the lives of casters and healers. It's a class that requires concentration and skill.

This guide will provide you with the information you need to be low down, sneaky, and all brigand like whether running solo, or in a group.
