You've finally made your way to level 20, and you find that the armor that you have been wearing from your teens (and perhaps earlier, shame on you!) is growing less and less adequate.  It's time to upgrade that gear, and there is no better way to do it!  With stats that greatly benefit your character's class, the very attractive price tag of free, (not to mention the top notch experience from both the quests and the mob kills) this series of quests just cannot be passed up.  You must be level 20 to start the quests, and for some you may want to bring along your friends!

Note to Mystics:  While the Mystics wear chain, they receive their quest from Selwyn Oakheart, and her quests can be found here, with the light armor quest guide.

Qeynos Chain and Plate Armor Quests

For Qeynosian chain and plate wearers, you'll be starting your armor quest in Qeynos harbor with Ian Cathlan (loc +796, -20, -32).  He gives you a total of 6 quests, each rewarding a piece of armor.  Once you complete your quest, you return to him for your reward, and to receive the following quest.  These do get more difficult as you go on, and most will be heroic mobs that you will need to kill.  Good luck!

"Ian's Forgetful Family - Part I" - On your first adventure for Ian, he asks you to retrieve some items that he has lost.  You will need to kill 4 giant kodiaks, which roam the area east of the Ruins of Caltorsis.  You then must kill 20 Caltorsis knights, found at the Ruins of Caltorsis (loc -1396, -15, -746).   Reward:  Gloves.

"Ian's Forgetful Family - Part II" -  Ian now sends you back into Antonica and Thundering Steppes.  You'll need to kill Grolven Chiptooth, who roams the area outside of Blackburrow.  You then need to head out to the Thundering Steppes to kill marine slugs, on the hills just past the docks, and any of the zombies in the same area.   Reward:  Forearm piece.

"Ian's Forgetful Family - Part III" - Head on back to the Thundering Steppes. This time you will need drowned troopers, rock writhers which are both found in the Dead River basin. Then you will need hawks. These can be found all over up and down Thundermist Road.   Reward:  Boots.

"Ian's Forgetful Family - Part IV" - For you fourth quest, Ian asks for you to go to the Crypt of Betrayal.  I suggest entering in via the southern entrance in Vermin's Snye.  For here you will kill 25 deathly scarabs, and 10 forsaken shrillers.  These are both easily found.  Then you need 15 restless corpses.  These are found in the first room (loc +126, +7, -102).  I found all these mobs as solo and heroics, but most of them are heroic.  Reward:  Shoulder piece.

"Ian's Forgetful Family - Part V" - Back to the Crypt of Betrayal! Firs you will need 5 minotuars. These are the tempests and are found in the southern area of the Crypt. Kill undead Ire Minions as you go as they are found throughout the zone, you'll be looking for a drop from them as well as you need 10 undead kills. You'll also need 12 Bloodsabers, any will do and those are also found throughout the zone.   Reward:  Leggings.

"Ian's Forgetful Family - Part VI" - On the final leg of your armor quests, Ian asks you to return to the Thundering Steppes.  This time, you will be killing 12 Sabertooth harvesters, which can be found outside the Sabertooth den (loc +1216, +5, -320), and are heroic mobs.  10 rumblers, which are the earth rumblers that are found (loc 886, -16, 1195)  in and around the caves near the southern coast.  Then you must finally, killed the named mob Ott Stumpgut (loc +950, 0, +590) who spawns in Thundermist Valley near the passage where the giants roam, when the person with the quest moves through the area.  Reward:  Chest piece.

Congratulations on completing your level 20 armor quest!  Enjoy that new gear!
