Runeforge

Since you will have just recently got to level 72 it is time to go train. While I don't believe in running back every level, it is generally best to go whenever there is a few levels under you belt. It also makes for a nice break and a reset before we finish up the last two quest hubs in the Borean Tundra and move on.

Once you are back from training, go to see Karuk at 47,75 to turn in A Diplomatic Mission and get the follow up quest Karuk's Oath. This quest has you venture onto the beach behind Karuk to slay the Skadir Raiders and Longboatsmen that you find around 48,77.

Runeforge

Once you have killed enough for the quest, return to Karuk and get the next part, Gamel the Cruel. You can find Gamel in the cave on the beach at 46,79.

Runeforge

Return to Karuk once again to get the next quest in the chain, A Father's Word. For this quest you must find Veehja the naga in the temple along the shore at 43,80 and talk to her. She will give you the quest The Trident of Naz'jan.

Runeforge

Swim out into the ocean to the island across the straight to find the Riplash Ruins. There you can find Ragnar Drakkarlund at 54,88. Once defeated you can loot the trident from him.

Runeforge

Return to Veehja, who tells you about the mighty sea creature Leviroth and sends you on the quest The Emissary. You can find Leviroth underwater at 52,88. Once near him use the spear on him, this will almost kill him, you then just need to hit him a few times normally and he will be killed.

Runeforge

Return to Karuk on the shore to complete the quest chain. From here we will head to the far east of the zone to a place called Death's Stand near 82,46. Once there turn in The Son of Karkut and get Surrounded! and The Lost Courier.

Runeforge

You can find the Ziggurat Defenders to slay just north of Death's Stand around 82,42.

Runeforge

Return to the Death's Stand to turn in Surrounded! and get Thassarian, the Death Knight. Then go east to find the Wailing Ziggurat and Thassarian in it at 84,41. Thassarian will give you the quest Finding the Phylactery.

Runeforge

Return to Death's Stand to mount Thassarian's horse, Dusk. Duck will then take you to a pool outside a ruined city at 84,33. Swim down into the pool to find the Frozen Phylactery. Once you attempt to pick it up several guardians will spawn that need to be defeated, but that will have the Phylactery. Once you have it, return to the Wailing Ziggurat.

Runeforge

Thassarian will accept the Phylactery and give you the quest Buying some Time. This has you return to the Temple City of En'Kilah that you were just near. There you must slay 20 scourge minions, then return to Thassarian.

Runeforge

The next quest in the chain is Words of Power. This quest has you visit the three temples in En'Kilah to slay three high priests and obtain scrolls from their bodies. The first is the High Priest Talet-kha in the Spire of Pain at 89,28.

Runeforge

The second can be found in the Spire of Blood at 87,22 in the upper level, this is the High Priest Andorath.

Runeforge

The last is found in the Spire of Decay at 84,22. The last priest is called Naferset and must first be freed by slaying the three necromancers guarding him.

Runeforge

Once you have all there scrolls return to the Ziggurat to turn in Words of Power and get Last Rights. This is a group quest that has you journey to the temple above the city to slay their leader. Thassarian does most of the fighting and damage and if you are a healing class you can probably solo the quest if you allow him to engage and maintain threat. Otherwise look for someone in the area to help with it. If no one is around, you can always come back later or drop the quest.

We are now going to travel to the other starting zone on Northrend to work on quests there. While you could return to the old zones and come across to it using the boat from Menethil it is better to make the long run across the continent and grab all the flight points. This makes getting around much easier later on and does not take that long. While getting the connecting flight paths, just turn in any quests you have at them, but do not pick up any new quests, we will come back for them later.

Your first flight point to get is in Star's Rest just east into Dragonblight at 28,55.

Runeforge

Keep traveling east until you run out of road to follow, then look for the large temple of Wyrmrest in the distance and head to it. The flight point here is along the northern edge of the temple at 84,57.

Runeforge

Keep heading east, but travel slightly south to find the road again. Once you get to the fork at 84,57 turn north through the ruins of the town. The town is infested with undead, but keep heading north into the town and then through it into Winterguard Keep. Here you will find the flight point at 71,49.

Runeforge

Return to the road south of the keep and once again keep going east. Once you enter the zone of Grizzly Hills go east until you pass over the bridge at 29,69, then turn north up the hill. At the top of the hill you will find Amberpine Lodge and the flight point at 31,59.

Turn south and follow the road into the Howling Fjord. Continue south in this zone until you reach Westguard Keep and get the flight point at 31,44.

Runeforge

Exit the keep and jump off the cliff to the south into the water. You may miss and die, but that is ok. Resurrect at the spirit healer on the island and get the flight point in Kamagua at 24,57.

On the island you will find a gondola that will take you back up the cliff and onto the mainland at 25,62.

Runeforge

Travel north east to find a bridge across a small river at 52,49. Go over the bridge and follow the winding path down the cliff to Valguarde. Once there you can find the flight point at 59,63. This will be our next area to explore in the next part of the guide.
