Bechdel, Jason
Although new to the game of professionl writing, he has been playing
video games since early childhood. Starting with console games such as
Atari, Nintendo, Sega Genesis, and even more recently the Nintendo Wii,
Jason's true addiction to gaming did not start until the purchase of
his first computer and the later release of Diablo in 1996.
Jason has been hooked on Blizzard games ever since, moving from Diablo to Diablo 2, Starcraft, Warcraft,
and finally finding his niche within the World of Warcraft
community.
A stickler for the details, Jason makes sure things are being done
correctly and is not afraid to voice his opinion when he feels things
are not being handled correctly. He has been an officer/raid leader in
almost all the guilds he has been a part of, and has always had a
passion for working the auction house and taking care of the guild bank.
When not playing World
of Warcraft, Jason enjoys spending time outdoors, working
on his truck, and just sitting back and relaxing while watching some
TV. Jason currently resides in rural Pennsylvania with his 3 year old
daughter, and fellow gamer wife (who is totally better than him).
Bolton, Jason
A long time gamer with an
acerbic wit
and sharp tongue, Jason's tendency to be directly blunt will never
leave you wondering about his true feelings. This is Jason’s
first foray into game related writing, coming from prior experience as
a monthly advice columnist. The bulk of Jason’s experience is
in
the form of online gaming. He started MMOGs with Ultima Online and
quickly moved on to
EverQuest to beta test, which swept him into a
six year affair that nearly ruined a marriage. Jason has been playing World of Warcraft
since launch, mainly focusing on end game raiding.
Johnson, Jay
Hailing from Northern
California, Jay
“Medeor” Johnson began his tenure at Ten Ton Hammer
a few
years ago during the Vanguard
beta. Jay has covered MMOG news for the main Ten Ton Hammer site and
has covered a wide swath of the MMOG industry. Having played many of
the MMOGs on the market, World
of Warcraft
has been his staple game since its launch in 2004, and he has attended
several BlizzCons. Spending the first few years of WoW
playing
all of the classes provides Jay a great understanding of the various
class mechanics (he has played every class to level 60 or higher).
Previously a confessed Carebear, Jay has turned the corner and now
enjoys PvP in conjunction with end game raiding. When he’s
not
playing or writing, Jay keeps on the move with his wife and three kids.
Mudry, Byron
Byron Mudry has been around Ten Ton Hammer for over 4 years now,
working on the World of
Warcraft site since its launch in 2004.
He has worked on the WoW site since then as his alter ego, the often
times controversial, maniacal and debate-seeking "Messiah."
Sometime in 1995, he happened across the game Warcraft: Orcs & Humans
by Blizzard. From then on, not a single Blizzard game went
unplayed. In fact, when each new Blizzard game was release it
usually meant a week or more booked off on holidays to get his Blizzard
Fix in.
In addition to video games, Byron enjoys miniature wargaming and was an
Outrider for Games Workshop for several years. In that time he
helped demonstrate, teach and promote the Warhammer, Warhammer 40,000
and Lord of the Rings
tabletop miniatures games. All of his past experiences led him to Ten
Ton Hammer, where he has been helping to grow and promote the World of Warcraft
community from the start. In World of Warcraft,
he has led many characters through to the end game. In the
base game he was an end game healer on his paladin and a priest,
raiding all the way through to Naxxramas. In the Burning
Crusade he became a raid leader and raided as a Tanking Paladin, Shadow
Priest, Restoration Druid and Beast Master Hunter. In the Wrath of the
Lich King he is once again leading a raid group through all the content
as a Tanking Paladin.
Piner, David
David Piner has been at the forefront of MMOG gaming for over ten
years. His background started in the early days of the Internet when
graphical gaming was in its infancy. During this time he played,
designed, and programmed text only MMOGs known as MUDS. At the advent
of cheap video cards he then moved on to graphical games such as Ultima Online, EverQuest,
Lineage, Ragnarok Online, Dark Age of Camelot, Earth and Beyond, EVE
Online, Guild Wars, and World of Warcraft.
David's major accomplishments range from running one of the largest
fansites for Ragnarok
Online during its original beta phase to leading one of
the top five guilds in Guild
Wars before the first expansion. In 2005 David joined the
Ten Ton Hammer team to lead the Auto Assault site. In 2006 he joined
the World of Warcraft team and has since been producing quality guides,
editorials, and other things that help both new and seasoned WoW
players really get into the game.
Stow, Adam
Stow goes by a very simple mantra: "Whatever he plays, he decides to be
the best at it."
He always strives for excellence and recognition from his competitive
peers and the world. Ever since becoming the #1 player on
U.S. East in Warcraft
3: Reign of Chaos, that mentality has carried over into a
plethora of games. Stow prefers any game where he can make his
supremacy known - 2D Fighting Games, MMORPGs, and Real Time Strategy
are his fortés.
A long history of PvP experience going back to the days of Ultima, and PvE
going back to the original gods of EverQuest
gives him many a story and lesson to tell to the upstarts who think
they know how to fight or lead. Put forth your best effort,
or you'll get no sympathy from him when you're eating dirt!
