Geeked - "Pass The Torch, George"

I just came out of the theatre a bit ago. When I left, I was smiling and saying to myself, "Do I have enough cash on me to go watch it again?" I'm talking of course about the new Star Trek. It's no secret by now that I'm not a Trekkie. But I always appreciated the show for what it was. I just couldn't relate to it, or get attached to the characters.
Leave it to the current masters of character development at Bad Robot to give Trek exactly what it needed to lure me in. Sure the alternate reality explanation for the way the writers are able to go back and change everything fans know about the canon is a bit goofy, but it's Star Trek. It works. Plus it gives this new team of Orci and Kurtzman to take the crew of the Enterprise to never before seen places or even to revisit old favorites (Khan, anyone?).
I'm now a fully-fledged fan of the Trek. Now if only Lucas would die and pass the torch of Star Wars over to more capable hands...
