Welcome to
the latest World of Warcraft newsletter from Ten Ton Hammer.
The Overpull, where we gather most of the things we should and
a
few we probably shouldn't.

In this section
we'll look at the hits and misses taking
place in the
game.

Pretty
quiet on the western front this week. That means that only a couple
hundred pages of official forums have filled up with bile.

Ghostcrawler was fairly prolific this week, and stopped by the official
forums to href="http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=17223046167&pageNo=1&sid=1#1">discuss
5-man dungeons and the href="http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=17367806783&sid=1&pageNo=7#126">jewelcrafting
nerf.
What do these mean to me? Not much. It's lip service, but I do hope
that they make 5-man runs more meaningful in the future. Currently
5-mans are the areas of the map you ignore on your way to the real
content.

Do you remember all the hub-bub about the mana regen of drinking that
got everyone all hot and bothered but then didn't make into the live
version of the game? Well it's in for Arenas next patch, so get ready
to regen didly for four whole seconds when you plop down to drink up
right before that Death Knight death grips you out from under the
bridge.

Memorial
Day is a day to remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice in order
for us to enjoy the freedom of our country (which includes the right to
play WoW). Many countries don't allow people to freely go where they
want to go on the interwebz, but through blood, sweat and tears, our
forefathers and contemporaries continue to fight the good fight so that
we can enjoy this freedom.

A number of the people I work with and play WoW with are in the armed
services and I have family members who have fought in the latest wars.
Luckily they are all still with us, but we should all take a moment
today to think of those people who have lost their lives so that we can
have the priviledge to whine and bitch about how our characters are
getting nerfed.

On
this Memorial Day edition of The Overpull, we'll keep it short and
sweet so you can get back to the bar-b-que and baked beans. I was going
to say yummy baked beans, but I don't believe I've ever had a bad batch
of baked beans in my life, ergo all baked beans must be yummy.

The next content patch has a name, Call of the Crusade. We can expect
more Argent Tournament content, a new Battleground and Arena Season
something or other (if nobody shows up, do they still count the
seasons?).

I love the description of the new Battleground, "Isle of Conquest":

"The
Horde and Alliance will battle head-to-head for control of
strategic resources to lay siege to the keeps of their opponents."

That sounds so different from the other ones where we go head-to-head
for control of strategic...hey, wait a minute!

In another showing of why the developers love the Horde more than the
Alliance, the next patch will also include a new Zeppelin from Thunder
Bluff to Orgrimmar. So now lowbie cows can make their way to Orgrimmar
unmolested, but the wingnuts of the Alliance still have to traipse
across The Wetlands and Loch Modan to get between Ironforge and
Menethil Harbor (to reach Darnassus and vice versa). It's good to be on
the side of the developers.

The MLG PC Circuit is queued up to start on June 5th for an invite-only
tournament in Columbus, Ohio. All the expected big dogs of competitive
arena play will be there, including SK Gaming, Fnatic, Pandemic,
Ensidia and Evil Geniuses among others. The winners will go home with
$9,000 and we can all watch the action on href="http://www.gotfrag.com/wow/story/44191/">Gotfrag
through their streaming service. This will be a great chance to see
which 3v3 compositions have risen to the top. Will it be
Rogue-Mage-Priest again for 2009?

Lots of interesting items are teed up for the next few months, do any
of them get your juices flowing? Are you checking into airfare
for
Columbus to watch the MLG? href="http://forums.tentonhammer.com/showthread.php?t=43160">Stop
by our forums and let's discuss.

Until
next
week, have fun and thanks for reading,

Medeor href="http://wow.tentonhammer.com/">
