Welcome to
the latest World of Warcraft newsletter from Ten Ton Hammer.
The Overpull, where we gather most of the things we should and
a
few we probably shouldn't.

In this section
we'll look at the hits and misses taking
place in the
game.

Patch
3.2 is steadily creeping toward launch. Will it be a hit or a miss, we
won't know for some time, and even then we may not know, ya know?.

Paladin changes are mostly a win with just enough nerfage to keep the
other classes from storming the gates. Other classes are getting
changes, but I'm still deciding which will make them easier to knock
out in PvP. The Illumination nerf is definitely a resizing of the mana
regen, but so far I'd put in the mole hill category, not mountain.

A ton of new mounts and non-combat pets are coming our way. I still
favor the raptor on the Horde and the tiger on the Alliance. Call me
old fashioned.

In both a hit and a miss, the new Wintergrasp should represent a better
playing experience for those that get in. See "Wintergrasp Population
Cap." Why do I get this feeling like I'm trying to get my boarding pass
on Southwest Airlines, "Queuing
will begin 15 minutes before each battle."

This week's
memorable blue posts:

So Glorious of a Reward

Glory to the Ulduar Raiders will not be able to get those Proto-drake
mounts forever. Similar to the Amani War Bears Arena Gladiator mounts,
these are for the elite. At least you can still get the achievement and
a block of government cheese.

href="http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?sid=1&topicId=17899681400&pageNo=2#29">Resilience
Resolution

Resilience is getting some mechanic changes as Blizzard tries to
reinvigorate PvP. They call Resilience a debuff to heals. Blizzard
wants to slow down the slaughter in Arenas, so slowing down damage is
one way to do it, is this the right way? DoTs will matter
again
apparently, so look for more Locks in PvP.

Population Cap

"The
queue will accept up to 100 players from each faction..." So much for
the marketing when it was announced:

"Wintergrasp is
designed to engage players across the whole region in intense PvP
warfare on an unprecedented scale."

Happy post-Father's Day to all the dads out there (assuming your kids
don't refer to you as "The Defendant."

Midsummer's Fire Festival. That's all I have to say about that, and
even that is more than I wanted to say. The only thing that makes me
chortle is when the holiday events are bugged so people can't complete
their achievements. The Fire Festival is making me chortle a bit.

Call
of the Crusade, aka Patch 3.2

What does Patch 3.2 have in store for us? Quite a few class changes,
but as the Blue posters say "Nothing Class Changing." We'll see about
that, I'm sure the forums are ablaze with controversy.

What we do know is that a new raid instance will be coming and that
raid instance will have as many flavors as a Windows
operating system.
Do you want IceCrown Home Edition (10 Man Normal), Home Platinum (10
Man Heroic), Ultimate (25 Man Normal), or Mega-Platinum Ultimate (25
Man Heroic)? In the green economy we call that Recycle and
Re-use.

Class changes in 3.2 are interesting, but I wouldn't call them severe.
Death Knights, Paladins, and Shaman have extensive lists, but Mage,
Locks and Druid changes are yet to be determined.  Yet again
the DKs
have a lengthy list of changes that look like narrative math problems:

style="margin-left: 40px; font-style: italic;">Scourge
Strike now deals 40% of weapon damage (down from 45%) plus 317.5 (down
from
357.2) at max rank. Total damage increased by 10% (down from 11%) per
each of your diseases on the target.

If two DKs are on trains leaving Chicago, will they both be nerfed in
PvP?

As usual Rogues have the fewest changes and they are all buffs, and
they will be able to use axes. I'm rerolling a Rogue.

Near and dear to my heart, there will be 37 new achievements available
when Call of the Achievement Conquest goes live. Seriously, 37. I can't
tell if this is Blizzard being creative in coming up with ways to keep
us occupied, or lazy about coming up with new content. File this with
the Fire Festival under meh.

The Call of the Conquest has enough content to be a full blown
expansion. Professions are receiving new articles to craft, and even
cooking is getting some love. There is style="font-weight: bold;">a new boss
being added to the Vault of Archavon and for the love, style="font-weight: bold;">a new holiday.
Yes, another achievement gripe fest is but a season away. This time
Thanksgiving is both the culprit and the victim. Please stop adding
more vegetables to my meat tray. I'm tired of all this garnish.

Lots of good and a few *others* we can discuss, so href="http://forums.tentonhammer.com/showthread.php?t=43815">stop
by and let me know
what you think of all these changes. Since these are all going live
around Blizzcon probably, does that mean we're a year out from an
expansion, or more?

Until next
week, have fun and thanks for reading,

Medeor href="http://wow.tentonhammer.com/">
