style="font-weight: bold;">Welcome Medawky, Guest Host

This
week while Medeor
is away we have a guest host here on The Overpull. Please welcome
Medawky our resident pillar of knowledge on all things Druid.

In
what has become a weekly tradition (most likely to span
10 weeks – my maff Is gud) Blizzard has unveiled another
round of the “Class
Q&A” series and this week spotlights the Paladin.
Sadly Ghostcrawler mailed
this one in and left it for the community team, sort of like what
Medeor did to
all of you this week.

You
can read the entire article href="http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/underdev/paladin.html">here
or I
can briefly summarize it for you.

Holy
– MP5 is now your friend.

style="border-style: none none solid; border-color: -moz-use-text-color -moz-use-text-color rgb(79, 129, 189); border-width: medium medium 1pt; padding: 0in 0in 4pt; margin-right: 0.65in;">

style=""> Q:
Specifically,
how do we feel about the healing itemization for paladins thus far? Do
we still
feel MP5 is as important as other stats such as Int, Crit, Haste, and
Spell
Power? Are there plans to incorporate more of these other stats in
later tiers
of paladin healing gear?

A: In Lich King up until now, MP5 has not been as valuable to most
paladins...  Furthermore, we think we have allowed paladin
mana regen through Int and Crit to get a little out of control. We
don’t want
to force paladins to care only about MP5, but we also don’t
want them viewing
it as a total junk stat...

style="margin: 10pt 0in 14pt;">Ret – WERE
BUFFING YOUR DPS! They do go on to mention that
they are looking at how to hit you with the nerf bat soon however

Q:
Do we have plans to introduce a stand-alone
interrupt ability for paladins?

A: We would like to add this kind of utility to paladins. First we have
to get
the burst damage under control so that Ret paladins are not winning PvP
encounters by blowing players up. When we accomplish that,
we’ll look at
finally giving them more tools.

Prot-
Well guys, it’s like this, they forgot all about ya.
It seems you should go ahead and respec or roll a DK to tank with. style="">  I
jest! I am sure it was merely an oversight
and not a sneaky way to tell you that you have been replaced.

In
more underwhelming news it seems that the trend of Tier 9
armor was not only limited to the cloth and mail wearers of the world.
All
armor type users will look exactly the same with only minor coloration
differences for each class. I only wish they would color match this to
chat
window and mini map, that way if I see a bright orange splotch running
towards
me at least I know it’s a Druid.

Lordy Lord I Gots
the Blues

Noteworthy
blue posts for the week.

href="http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=18369410561&pageNo=1&sid=1#0">Trial
of the Champions –
Feedback thread opened up for the newest addition to the
test realm. Trial of the Champions is a 5 man dungeon that pits you
against three
encounters. The intro encounter is a mix from 3 of 5 of the opposite
factions
champions. The second encounter pits you against one of two more
powerful
champions and the final encounter is against The Dark Knight. These
encounters
change depending on your faction standings. So far feedback seems
mostly
positive but apparently some players are adverse to several minutes of
RP into
chatter before each round. Who would have thought that a massively
multiplayer
online ROLE PLAYING game would ever incorporate some RP.

Not
much else really caught my eye this week, mostly updates
to previously announced items. However there was one bit in there that
relates
back to the whole RP conundrum. href="http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=18315577931&sid=1&pageNo=1">What
exactly are the rules on Forsaken reproduction?
Ok ok maybe the anti-rp
crowd really is on to something. I have played one of my toons on an RP
server
since launch and I thought I was beyond being flabbergasted, but really
who
thinks about this sort of thing?

Well
Medeor told me if I filled in this week that this
section would be mine to do with as I pleased, a whole blank slate for
my
fertile mind to wander. I decided to forgo that route and focus first
on the
lies spread in this very column last week. style="">
Medeor attempted
to assert that the Paladin was somehow superior to the
Druid. Indeed. To imply that they are even close is absurd and borders
on
criminal. Please refrain, my plate wearing pious brethren, from spewing
any of
your “logic” and “reason” I
have one compelling argument that ends all
arguments and I can surmise it in four simple words – Instant
Cast Flight Form.

WoW
fans are getting hungry for the next update to the game,
patch 3.2, where the main focus seems to be a rather large fight club. href="http://www.tentonhammer.com/node/71031">Call of
the Crusade is
getting closer to live every day as Medeor points out. I hope this
patch lives
up to the hype in much the same way that Saturdays UFC 100 did. That
was some
great action!

Our
newest staff writer, Russell, has been diligently
updating our Shaman guides to the latest and greatest info (just in
time for it
all to change again with a new patch!) This week he takes another look
at href="http://www.tentonhammer.com/node/71080">Shaman
UI Mods .

Even
though version 3.0 of WoW is just over 7 months old
(hey this isn’t that OTHER MMO that pops em out every 90 days
folks) People are
already clamoring for what might be on the horizon for the current king
of the
MMOs.
Lead designer Tom
Chilton was
recently interviewed and had some pretty interesting but hardly
shocking things
to href="http://www.tentonhammer.com/node/70898">say.
Thanks to Messiah
for digging that up.
I personally hope
that we get to explore the Maelstrom and The Emerald Dream, my two
favorite
pieces of WoW lore.

Now
it is time for some shameless self promotion. Be on the
lookout this week for my review of href="http://www.say2play.com/">Say2Play,
a new voice recognition system for games that has a native WoW
application
built in.

style="border-style: none none solid; border-color: -moz-use-text-color -moz-use-text-color rgb(79, 129, 189); border-width: medium medium 1pt; padding: 0in 0in 4pt; margin-left: 0.65in; margin-right: 0.65in;">

style="margin: 10pt 0in 14pt;">You can load and go
with Say 2 Play and enjoy a ton of conveniences
right out of the gate. With commands already present for swapping
hotbars,
targeting party and raid members, jumping, autorun, casting any hot
keyed spell
on your hotbars and much much more.

style="margin: 10pt 0in 14pt;">To get the true power
of this program however you need
to customize it and tie it to your in game macros. style="">  Creating
a new voice command has some
learning curve but if you have mastered macro making and key binding in
the WoW
client, then it will be a short one. style="">

I
hope you will check out the review for yourself, be on the
lookout for it Monday night or Tuesday morning. Stop by the forums and href="http://forums.tentonhammer.com/showthread.php?t=44332">we
can discuss the Druid v. Paladin
debate or anything else that suits your fancy.

Medeor
will be back next week to resume the Overpull and
restore it to its rightful
place.
I
hope
I haven’t brought too much shame to the venerated
establishment this week!
As always be safe
and have fun in Azeroth!
