Look for her by the archway west of the hill of Cerin Amroth, far to the northeast of here inside the forest.'

Volume II, Book 7, Chapter 2: Ringbearer's Respite
Background
'Before you go, (your name), you should know that you are not the only visitor that has come to Lórien in recent days. In fact, I understand that you are known to these guests, and they will be pleased to see you.

'The hobbit Frodo Baggins is resting with some members of his company on the crest of the hill. I do not know what errand has brought them to the Golden Wood, or if you have been entrusted with knowledge of it, but I am sure he will be pleased to see you.'
Description
Milwen has told you of a number of visitors to Lórien who will be interested in speaking with you.

Task:

style="margin: 10px; border-collapse: collapse; float: right; width: 200px; height: 118px;"
border="1">

style="border: 0px solid ; width: 200px; height: 118px;" />

style="font-style: italic;">You will need to speak with several members of the Fellowship.

  • Talk to Frodo Baggins (Cerin Amroth 11.8S 67.8W)
  • Talk to Samwise Gamgee (Cerin Amroth 11.8S 67.8W)
  • Talk to Meriadoc Brandybuck (Bain Gwaloth 12.9S, 67.1W near the Reflection Pool.)
  • Talk to Boromir (Cirin-en-Galadh 11.1S 60.1W)
  • Talk to Gimli (Cerin Amroth 11.8S 67.8W in the tree next to Frodo.)

Speak with each member of the fellowship. Boromir will be slightly annoyed that Gimli is becoming too trusting of their new elvish friends. He will send you to speak with him atop the flat in Cerin Amroth.

Volume II, Book 7, Chapter 3: Sons of Leaf and Stone
Background

'Legolas and I were just about to take another walk among the trees of Lothlórien in search of patrolling Orcs, (your name). Why don't you come with us?

'What do you think, Legolas? Is there room in our party for a third? Surely (your name) will enjoy seeing the beauty of the wood, and the possibility of hewing an Orc or three will only sweeten the appeal of such a tour!'

Description
Legolas and Gimli have been walking through the woods of Lothlórien, keeping watch for the Orcs that attempt to infiltrate the bounds.

  • Task: Talk to Gimli (Cerin Amroth 11.8S 67.8W)

This is the first instance you will play through for Book 7. The goal is to escort Legolas and Gimli through Lothlórien and take out any orc patrols you come across. Obviously you are in good hands and this is a solo only instance. However, with Legolas and Gimli watching your back you won't be in too much trouble. Just help burn down the enemies as they come and Legolas and Gimli will do the rest.

style="margin: 10px; border-collapse: collapse; float: right; width: 200px; height: 118px;"
border="1">

href="http://www.tentonhammer.com/node/71323"
title="Title of Your Image"> src="http://www.tentonhammer.com/image/view/71323" alt="" width="200" height="118"
style="border: 0px solid ; width: 200px; height: 118px;" />

style="font-style: italic;">Gimli and Legolas will try to see who can kill the most as you progress through the instance.

The best way to handle this instance is to assist a target off of either Gimli or Legolas. For the most part, you can burn down the enemies without having to get yourself hit too much. You will encounter a total of three waves, each with 6 mobs and the last two come consecutively. Overall it's not a hard instance and you should be able to knock it out just by assisting. Gimli is great at tanking and Legolas is excellent DPS. All you need to do is make sure they don't get overwhelmed and provide support and you'll be through this instance pretty quick.

After the third wave a Galadhrim Archer will run to your group and inform you that another dwarf has come to Lothlórien seeking your help. Once you speak with him you will have to follow Legolas and Gimli to the exit where you will find Bósi the dwarf waiting for you. Speak with him and hear his story. You can then speak with the Galadhrim Warden next to him to exit the instance. However, you will be transported to another instance within the Lothlórien city of Caras Galadnon.

  • Task: Protect Legolas and Gimli

Once you are in the new instance, speak with Bósi once more and follow the group to meet Celeborn and Lady Galadriel. Listen over Bósi's audience with Celeborn and Lady Galadriel. You will learn that Gorothúl has left Mirkwood and this will be the defining moment that Celeborn will agree to aid the dwarves of Moria by sending a number of Galadhrim to aid in their efforts to reclaim Moria. Once the conversation concludes, speak with Lady Galadriel to exit the instance.

  • Task: Listen over Bósi's audience with Celeborn

Rewards: 28s 35c

Increased Reputation with the Galadhrim (900)

Volume II, Book 7, Chapter 4: A Tense Alliance
Background

'That is my decision. I will not abandon the Quest with which I have been charged.

'I hope you will give to Bósi and the rest of the Iron Garrison the aid that I would have provided if I were there, Martuk. When the errand of this company is finished, I hope to return to a reclaimed Moria, and your efforts will help make that possible.

'Bósi said he would return to the Chamber of the Crossroads near Durin's Way, in Moria. Go now to him, and give him both my regret that I cannot now return and my fervent good wishes for his success.'

Description
Celeborn has sent a number of Elves to assist the dwarves in Moria, and you have promised Gimli that you will continue to lend your aid in the Mines as well.

Task:

  • Bósi (The Chamber of the Crossroads 5.1S, 112W)
  • Orvar (Buzun-ghar 4.2S, 108.6W)
  • Corunothiel (Buzun-ghar 4.2S, 108.6W)
style="margin: 10px; border-collapse: collapse; float: right; width: 200px; height: 118px;"
border="1">

style="border: 0px solid ; width: 200px; height: 118px;" />

style="font-style: italic;">Orvar and Corunothiel are camped inside Buzun-ghar.

You have three steps to completing this part of the book. First, make your way to The Chamber of the Crossroads and speak with your old friend Bósi at location 5.1S, 112W. Next you will need to head over to a cave known as Buzun-ghar. You can find the entrance between The Stone Hall and the exit to Zirakzigil in Durin's Way at location 4.2S, 108.6W. Once inside, make your way to the small camp near the entrance and speak with Orvar. He will be grumbling something about the elves being too cautious and instruct you to speak with Corunothiel. You can find Corunothiel right next to Orvar. After speaking with Corunothiel, you will be given a new task.

Volume II, Book 7, Chapter 5: The Witing Rot
Background

'If Orvar will not listen to reason and collapse the only entrance to this passage, sealing the corruption within, we must find its source and destroy it. Speak to Nimpheleg about finding this source and dealing with it.

'We have seen Globsnaga Orcs deeper within Buzun-ghâr, and fear that they will soon climb up to this place. Have they been corrupted by the wilting rot, or is there some other cause of their affliction?

'These questions are secondary to the most important matter, Martuk: that they be defeated before they can do us any harm. Destroy them as you undertake Nimpheleg's scheme for cleansing the source of the wilting rot.'

Description
Corunothiel and the other Elves of Lórien sent to assist the Iron Garrison are concerned by the corrupting rot that spreads within one of the newly-excavated passages.

Task:

  • Defeat Globsnaga Warriors within Buzun-ghâr (0/4)
  • Execute Nimpheleg's plan to destroy the source of the wilting rot.
  • Defeat Globsnaga Skirmishers within Buzun-ghâr (0/3)

You will encounter more than enough Globsnaga along your way to take care of what you need for the quest. Head down into the dungeon and slay any Globsnaga's that get in your way. Expect this to be quite a few fights as the Globsnaga are all over the place. Once you have completed your task return to the encampment for your next task.

Volume II, Book 7, Chapter 5: Source of the Rot
Background

'The rot that pervades the lower reaches of Buzun-ghâr is not of the natural world, [your name], and that gives us the duty of removing it. If Orvar will not listen to our advice and seal the passage, we must destroy the source of the wilting rot before it escapes into wider Moria and becomes a much greater threat.

'I believe I have the means to do this, [your name]. This beryl will catch pure light, even at its most dim, and reflect it upon the corrupted walls of the passage. If you place it on a stone in the deepest area of Buzun-ghâr, it will be like a beacon to the evil of the rot -- drawing forth whatever lies behind the wilting rot, in agony.

'At that time you must destroy the source of the rot, but use caution! You must remain close to the beryl or its effects will not serve to weaken the master of the rot, whatever it may be!'

Description
Nimpheleg believes it may be possible to end the corruption of the wilting rot within Buzun-ghâr.

style="border: 0px solid ; width: 200px; height: 118px;" />

Nimpheleg has devised a plan to cleanse the corruption from Buzun-ghâr.

Nimpheleg, an elf also at Orvar's encampment, believes he has found a way to end the corruption within Buzun-ghâr. However, to do so you will need to travel deep within Buzun-ghâr and plant his magical beryl. Work your way to the lower levels of Buzun-ghâr and along the bottom near the drop-offs you will find a small segment of the cave where there appears to be a glowing rock with a large discolored pile of rock-looking objects behind it. Click the glowing brick and the pile of rocks behind it will come to life and in fact be a beast called Grawulun the Caerog. This mini-balrog looking creature can be taken out by fighting smart. While the battle sometimes can last a while, he isn't too hard to bring down. Just make sure you stay near the light of the beryl.

Once you have planted the beryl and defeated Grawulun the Caerog, return to the camp and speak with Corunothiel. After speaking with him you will need to again speak with Orvar about his recent visitor.

Volume II, Book 7, Chapter 6: Hewers of Stone
Background

'The messenger sent by Bróin was very clear that we should deal first with the corruption within Buzun-ghâr. Yet once that was done, his master desired greatly that you visit him again on the Peaceful Path, located in the Mustering Hall, east of Sulnul-dûm and west of the Stone Hall, here along Durin's Way. The entrance to the Peaceful Path is north-east of Buzun-ghâr.

'If you will allow me this, Martuk, I must tell you that Bróin has not been the same since you returned him to us; it is no fault of his own, for he endured much in the watery den of the Watcher, curse its name, but the son of Brogur may be now a little touched in the head. And then to lose his cousin Bori to the forces of Mazog! It cannot have helped.

'Treat him kindly and with patience, Martuk, but if the requests he makes of you seem a little peculiar, you will at least know the cause.'

Description
Bróin is unsure of what he should be doing, and wants you to help him try and find some way of helping Bori, captured by the forces of Mazog.

style="margin: 10px; border-collapse: collapse; float: right; width: 200px; height: 118px;"
border="1">

style="border: 0px solid ; width: 200px; height: 118px;" />

Nimpheleg has devised a plan to cleanse the corruption from Buzun-ghâr.

Task:

  • Talk to Broin (Peaceful Path 2.9S, 107.2W)
  • Find the Mining Records (7.9S, 112.3W)
  • Bring the Mining Records to Broin (Peaceful Path 2.9S, 107.2W)

The first part of this quest will have you scouring Katûb-zahar to locate mining records for Broin. Collect the mining records in the Chambers of Wisdom, Knowledge, and Deep Thought. I located mine in the Chamber of Wisdom north of Dolven View at location 7.9S, 112.3W. Once you have the records head back to Broin at the Peaceful Path 2.9S, 107.2W. Once you peak with Bróin, you will find out that what you have found is more than a simple set of mining records and within the documents may lie the key to rescuing Bori. Bróin will instruct you to locate Melkólf Stonecarver's lost workshop and search for evidence of a secret entrance to Rushdurinul.

Volume II, Book 7, Chapter 7: The Lost Workshop
Background

'Melkólf Stonecarver was renowned for much of his work, though I have never heard of this "secret road." Its inclusion in these records may very well have been an oversight by a scribe of Durin's day, but he may have given us what we need to wrest my cousin from the grasp of Mazog's forces!

'Mazog has entrenched himself in the great fortress of Zabadgathol, surrounding himself with Orc warriors. But if a secret escape passage was constructed in the rear wall of Rushdurinul, we might be able to sneak into the fortress unobserved!

'Melkólf Stonecarver's workshop was recently uncovered, but no dwarves were left to guard it; who could have suspected how important it might become? Take the western exit from the Peaceful Path, and once you come out onto the mountainside, turn west and climb the short slope to the cave-mouth. Enter the passage and search for word of the secret way into Rushdurinul!'

Bróin blanches at your request that he accompany you there.

'Oh, no -- I need to stay here. There's so much to be done here. I will come with you on the next adventure, I promise! You should travel to the workshop alone, in order to maintain secrecy.'

Description
Bróin believes you have discovered mention of a secret passage into Rushdurinul, where Mazog has established his throne, and might use it to rescue his cousin Bori.

Task: Find the workshop of Melkólf Stonecarver and search it for mention of Zurr-thurkh

Your next trip is a little instance located in northeast Zirakzigil called the Lost Workshop. The entrance can be found at location 14.6S, 109.7W. This is a solo instance and your goal here is to search for piles of pages throughout the dungeon until you find one giving a clue to the secret entrance to Rushdurinul. There are several goblins throughout the dungeon and it's all pretty straightforward. There is just one thing to keep in mind. At one point in this dungeon there is a section where you have to drop down. Before you do, make sure you have all the pages from the upper area as you can't get back up once you drop. I made this mistake and had to map out and return. Once you get to the end you will face a Sharp-Eyed Master and an Orc Treasure-Seeker. These are the last enemies separating you from the final pages. Once you have the final pages the instance will automatically kick you out. Return to Bróin at the Peaceful Path.

Volume II, Book 7, Chapter 8: The Secret Road
Background

'How many fates must have entwined for the Iron Garrison to break open the entrance to Buzun-ghâr just when we need it, (your name)? If the "secret road" was built, you will find the entrance to it deep within Buzun-ghâr! It must be a portent to have happened this day, of all days!'

Bróin suddenly finds himself unable to meet your eyes.

'I wish I could come with you to walk the "secret road" and rescue Bori, (your name), but there is still so much to do, and...well, I am needed here. We will fight together on the next adventure -- I swear it.

'Return to Buzun-ghâr, located south-west of here, in the south-eastern corner of Tharâkh Bazân, and speak with Orvar Bellhammer. He will accompany you along Zurr-thurkh, if it exists, though he should be your only companion, in the interest of secrecy.'

Description
You have located the plans for a secret escape tunnel out of Durin's throne room. If it was ever constructed, it might be used to enter Zabadgathol in secret to rescue Bori.

Task:

  • Talk to Orvar (Buzun-ghar 4.2S, 108.6W)
  • Find the entrance to Zurr-thurkh and use it to get behind the walls of Zabadgathol

Now that you have discovered the secret entrance lies within Buzun-ghar, Broin will instruct you to speak with Orvar to have him accompany you along Zurr-thurkh. This is a solo quest, so you are on your own. The entrance to the place you seek is located right behind where you fought Grawulun the Caerog. Protect Orvar as you escort him through the instance. This can be a bit tough at times as you need to keep yourself alive as well as Orvar. Tanks Guardians, Captains and other healers usually can do this without a lot of trouble, but hunters sometimes have difficulty with keeping Orvar alive, so don't be afraid to go all out. Bring a few healing and power potions to help you along.

style="margin: 10px; border-collapse: collapse; float: right; width: 200px; height: 118px;"
border="1">

style="border: 0px solid ; width: 200px; height: 118px;" />

Mazog surrenders when confronted by superior numbers.

Once you make it through the short path you will enter the Throne of Durin. Once there you will have to search the various orc encampments for Bori. Orvar will keep guard at the rear so you'll be advancing alone. Most of the battles will put you against two enemies, so be careful you don't allow yourself to get smacked around too much. The only tricky part you'll encounter is when you reach the main encampment. If you bypass some of the patrols, there is still one that paths near the main camp. Each pull from the main camp is two mobs regardless of what you do, so a third add could bring your adventure to a crushing halt. So if you do bypass the patrols, be careful when pulling the main encampment of orcs.

After defeating the orcs you fill find no sign of Bori. Orvar will arrive to confront Mazog. There are three waves of enemies between you and Mazog. Once you have defeated them, Mazog and Orvar will come face to face, but before they engage in battle, Broin and the elves will arrive. Once they have Mazog under control, speak with Broin and Corunothiel to finish the instance.

Volume II, Book 7, Chapter 9: The Worries of Lord Celeborn

'You will find Talan Haldir in a great tree on the banks of the Nimrodel, outside Lórien.'

Description
Celeborn of Lórien wishes to speak with you about your recent accomplishments in Moria and about what lies ahead.

Task: Talk to Haldir

After your success in the mines, Lord Celeborn has taken notice of your actions and would like to speak with you. Luckily he gives a nice cloak reward.
