Posted Fri, Sep 25, 2009 by Medawky

A new free-to-play multi-player online first-person shooter (MOFPS as the folks at ijii.com call it) Alliance of Valiant Arms has entered closed beta. To celebrate the new phase of development we were graced with access to some screens of in-game footage. The game uses the Unreal 3 engine, which is fast becoming a trend in online gaming, and features faction based combat that centers around a conflict between the European Union and the Neo-Russian Federation.

Here is the official press release:
Prepare for battle. The modern warfare, Unreal Engine 3-powered Alliance of Valiant Arms (A.V.A.) now lands fragging gamers in a current day, war-torn landscape with the beginning of its closed beta testing (CBT) on the hardcore online gaming portal ijji.com. Time is of the essence in this twitch-based, fast multi-player online first-person shooter (MOFPS) action, resulting in intense combat and heart-pounding face-offs – all in a game that is free to play. Eager fans can commandeer a copy of the game client now at: www.ava.ijji.com.

“During these tough times, the excess cash for a game isn’t always available, but a truly fantastic free FPS is always just a mouse click away,” said Philip Yun, CEO, NHN USA, Inc. “Compare A.V.A. to the retail-based games out there, selling for upwards of 50 bucks. Go ahead. We are not only prepared for the fight – we’ll start it.”

With closed beta action serving up countless breathtaking moments, Alliance of Valiant Arms has the potential to convert doubtful console FPS players into online PC FPS believers. Grenades begin falling daily at 12:00 p.m. PST and end at 8:00 p.m. PST, with the final raid of CBT ending at 8:00 p.m. PST on Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2009. Tensions run high as the fast-paced action and crisp imagery combine to immerse players in the numerous maps covering the modern European continent and beyond. With real world locations depicted as battlefields and rag-doll physics to animate the spoils of war, it may be hard for players to distinguish what is real and what isn’t.

In Alliance of Valiant Arms, modern warfare hits combat zones around the globe where a formidable battle has broken out between the European Union (EU) and the Neo Russian Federation (NRF). Players are tasked with picking a side and squaring off in an unprecedented battle amongst skyscrapers and deserted city blocks. With the signature quick-fragging action of the Unreal Engine 3, combat escalates quickly and tensions run high as players anticipate a bloody clash around every corner. Europe has yet to see more ominous missions or relentless enemies as seen on the streets of Alliance of Valiant Arms.

Modern combat fans and ijji.com members alike itching for a realistic, weapon-packed MOFPS can get their fix through the latest game on the hardcore online portal, players ready to answer the call of duty can download A.V.A. at www.ava.ijji.com.
