The Tricks of Mogloween have passed, but the Treats are still to come!   

As you are reading this article, heroes of the online MMORPG AdventureQuest Worlds (www.AQ.com) are busily squashing the remains of last week’s Holiday release! Mogloween is that special time of year when the heroes of Lore are seen hunting by moonlight, indulging in door-to-door candy-slaying services while dressed in seasonal attire. Even though AQ Worlds features thousands of wardrobe options year-round, nothing else can compare to Mogloween novelty costumes, from Banana Suits to Undead Morphs and even the Dream Slayer sweater, complete with a brown fedora!

With Mogloween slowly fading back to the graveyard, new adventures are currently being created. This weekend, our heroes will have a chance at being crowned this year’s Dragon Koi Tournament Champion! Hosted on the mysterious Edo-inspired island of Yokai, the Tournament invites the best-of-the-best combatants of Lore to participate in an all-out battle royal. The Champion is said to receive a legendary sword presented by the Shogun himself—but there’s a slight nayami: his empire has succumbed to the forces of Chaos, and no one knows for certain who is behind these attacks!

New Friday the 13th Event

After the catastrophic, server-melting, epic system failure during of our previous Friday the 13th Event… we are ready for a brand new one! You are officially invited to the live launch of a super unlucky special event. Join us on Friday the 13th at sundown when musical guest star Voltaire and his homicidal extraterrestrial teddy bear, Deady, will return to AdventureQuest Worlds. He will sing a special version of his “Land of the Dead” alongside a skeletal band and… we do not actually know what is happening next but one of the developers put in a request for giant Deady bear suits and a 75% destructible island map.

The special Friday the 13th event will run each hour during this weekend only. Featuring an achievement, rare items, and our most bizarre quest yet…. what could possibly go wrong?

Return to Yokai Isle

The ultimate martial arts tournament rages on! Well, sort of… last year’s Dragon Koi Champion is STILL charging up his ultimate attack, the Soul Nuke. (Note: He has been charging for 3 weeks already)

Get the first glimpse of our newest Chaos Lord. He is part Ninja, part Samurai, and with a name like Kitsune we can take a wild guess that he is part Fox spirit too! … and after a good look at him, we cannot help wondering if he has ever fought any turtles before.

There are 13 Lords of Chaos in all; the first two are in game and can be defeated. Please note: unlike some other games there IS a chance that one of the Chaos Lords will actually beat the players and win the game.  

Our newest quests will take you to the Hachiko Hotel in eastern Akiba where you will “face” a new type of Yokai monster, the: the Noppera-bo! The Noppera-bo is a type of Yokai monster that literally have no face—just an empty canvas of skin where the eyes, nose, and mouth should be. This zone is full of monsters that Artix learned about during his real-life visit to the land of the rising sun. In each area of this isle, we will battle against a new type of Yokai monster. Well, not all Yokai are evil. Please remember that for later. However, the Dai Tengu is pictured below!

Public Test Realm: PvP and Stats Testing

We have created a special testing server. Players can try out PvP and get a preview of stats while helping us hunt for bugs. Like our alpha tests last year, the test server will only be online at select times. Our first test went amazingly well. Players were able to enter a small, two-room PvP map where they could battle each other and score points by battling the enemy team’s Monster leader. We are currently taking suggestions for new types of PvP games to try in future tests on our forums.
