Funcom has posted a new developer journal over at MMORPG detailing the new wolf mount that will be introduced to to Age of Conan with the Rise of the Godslayer expansion. The journal explains how players will acquire the new wolf mount, but also how Funcom hopes to have players form a bond with their new companions by allowing them to capture and raise it as their own. Once players have captured and raised a wolf, they will be able to utilize their special skills such as the ability to detect stealth attackers or search for buried treasure. Reading further reveals tips on what players must do to tame and ride both of the new wolf and tiger mounts.

A wolf must also be able to scent their prey and use that scent to determine between friend and foe. The player must teach their wolf to understand the different scents of the world and to teach them the smells. The wolf must then be tested to ensure that it knows the difference.
