Ah, the joys of playing a (relatively) low population server! While the European servers were patching and other US guilds were sitting in queue, or staring at the server selection screen waiting for theirs to turn from grey to green, Vodka of Alterac Mountains (US) was scoring world first after world first in hardmode Icecrown 25.

Vodka, who had already scored the US first kill of The Lich King last week, managed to rack up world firsts on the first 8 bosses in Icecrown Citadel over the past two days; all the bosses that were not affected by the limited attempt restriction. We'll probably see another lag in progression now as a result of that now all-too-familiar phenomenon of top guilds running their alts through limited content to scout it out before bringing in their mains.

This will no doubt lead to complaints and accusations of illegitimacy by other guilds that consider themselves in competition for the dubious bragging rights that come from worldwide first kills, but for the time being congratulations to Vodka!

Update: Paragon gets World First Blood Queen Kill!

Just minutes ago Paragon scored the world first kill on Blood Queen. They have had a reputation for being very aggressive with their limited attempts, but I personally am surprised that this content is being taken down this quickly. Perhaps the hardmodes won't ramp up as drastically as people have been expecting!

Impressive performance by Paragon. Also, be sure to check out their Lich King Encounter Video it's one of the better ones out there.
