Battle.net Mobile Authenticator Now Available for Android Mobile Devices

We're pleased to announce that the Battle.net Mobile Authenticator, an application for mobile phones that provides an extra layer of account security, is now available as a free download for Android mobile devices on Android Market. The Battle.net Mobile Authenticator provides a one-time password that you use in addition to your regular account name and password to log in to a Battle.net account and any associated World of Warcraft accounts.

Versions for other mobile devices are also available for download here, or you can purchase a physical Battle.net Authenticator from the online Blizzard Store. Visit the Android Battle.net Mobile Authenticator FAQ for more information, or head to the setup page to get started after you've downloaded the application. For additional account security advice, visit our recently released Account Security page.

Android users will no doubt enjoy this option, as Iphone users have for some time. One cautionary note: if you are using an Android and you are the type that is resetting to factory defaults on a regular basis be aware that "access to your account will be lost if you reset your device to factory defaults, uninstall the application, or overwrite the application before removing it from your account."

Make sure you remove the Authenticator from your account before you do anything major to alter your phone or overwrite your Mobile Authenticator application!

The Pet Store is about to go plush! Introducing the Wind Rider Cub and Gryphon Hatchling, the first in a new line of cuddly, crafty critters scheduled to arrive exclusively in the online Blizzard Store in the weeks ahead. Each plush companion will come with a code for a matching in-game, non-combat, account-bound pet to fly by your side in Azeroth. Both Horde and Alliance players will be able to adopt either pet once they hatch in the online Blizzard Store. Keep your eyes on the sky -- and the official World of Warcraft website -- for more information.

Here is a picture of the plushies from WorldofWarcraft.com as well as some datamined images of the in-game versions of the pets:
