Joshua Hong is the CEO and founder of GamersFirst, a free-to-play MMOG publisher responsible for current titles such as Sword of the New World, Taikodom, and many others. Recently, Hong announced plans to run for Governor of California, but the announcement was initially believed to be an April Fools prank given the timing of the release, but according to recent news Hong is in fact planning a run at the Governor's seat to replace current Governor Schwarzenegger. Hong is running on a platform that promises to emphasize entertainment and free gaming.

“I have pondered this decision at great length and would like to join the esteemed ranks of California’s past gubernal candidates,” says Joshua Hong in his video release this morning. “In the past ten years, I have really seen California embrace global thoughts and ideas and incorporate them into our state’s processes. However, the focus has been on over-examined issues like the economy, schools and healthcare. Real Californians are tired of hearing about these issues. What people really care about is entertainment and video games. From experience, players are sick of big corporations charging exorbitant costs for video games and consoles. I want to incorporate the ideas of Free2Play, which I brought to this industry and trademarked. I will use my gubernatorial term to propagate and instill Free2Play to Californians. With our loyal Free2Play community of nearly 5 million in California, the strength of that bond will push me into the position of 39th governor of California!”
