Warhammer and DAoC Botched Billing Reversed But Will Take Time to Show Up

By now you have probably heard (and in some cases the hard way) that Mythic recently experienced a billing glitch that charged some players multiple times for their account in Warhammer Online and Dark Age of Camelot. In some cases, players are reporting charges of $300 to $400. New players are also finding charges on their accounts today, so if you checked before you may want to check again. Mythic has stated that this is due to a delay in reporting by financial institutions and not in fact new cases. All the same, you might want to give your accounts another look.

Mythic posted another update today to let players know that they have received confirmation that the charges have been reversed. Unfortunately, it may take a few days for the reversal to show up on affected accounts. Mythic also added that they want to make this right and if you have been financially affected by this issue you can call this number (650-628-1001) during business hours and tell them about it. It doesn't really say what Mythic will do to make this right, but with any luck anyone who has suffered financial problems because of this might can get some relief.

As you may be aware, recently some customer accounts were billed multiple times unintentionally. We regret any difficulty this event may have caused you, and we remain dedicated to resolving the issue with our vendors and customers.

As of now we have received confirmation that the charges have been reversed. Depending on your financial institution and when they deposit the refunded charges back to your account it may take up to 3 business days for this refund to be reflected in your statement.  To ensure a fast resolution we recommend you contact your financial institution first. We have received some reports that customers are seeing charges appear on their accounts today. This is not due to a reoccurrence of the problem but simply a reflection of the delayed reporting at some financial institutions.

Please be assured that your personal information has not been compromised nor were Mythic's security systems breached. These charges were the result of a billing error and while unfortunate, unrelated to the rest of your account. We are working diligently to rectify the situation and we remain committed to continued improvement of our account and game services. Your trust, security, and satisfaction is the keystone that makes this possible.
