Rejoice citizens of Kryta, the Shining Blade have stormed Lion's Arch and Princess Selma has now regained the throne. What does this mean? No one knows, but the Guild Wars Beyond storyline keeps pushing forward. For those who aren't aware, right now GW1 is no longer in full time development as all of ArenaNet's resources are moved to GW2, but they're still doing pre-GW2 game content updates in the form of a series of updates known as "Guild Wars Beyond," which includes the "Wary in Kryta" which is an ongoing war between the Shining Blade (led by the exiled Princess Salma) and the White Mantle.

This update brings new banners outside of Lion's Arch and a new article on the War in Kryta page.

For the first time in years, a member of the royal bloodline sits upon the throne in Lion’s Arch.

Today Princess Salma and her cohort entered Lion’s Arch to the cheers and joyful weeping of commoners and took the ancestral seat without a single drop of blood being spilled. The Lionguard, traditional protectors of the royal family, did not bar the Princess from entering – indeed, they received the young Princess with the honor due a queen.

Everywhere in Lion’s Arch, commoners rejoiced at Princess Salma’s arrival. White Mantle symbols and flags were torn from the city’s walls, and a sense of hope shone upon the capital like warm sunshine bursting through storm clouds.

“I never thought I’d see those bloody Mantle banners torn down from the walls,” said Grahame, a Lion’s Arch weaponsmith. “Truly this is a great day for Kryta.”

Few had any illusions as to what Salma’s presence here meant, or that it would attract the focused attention of the White Mantle.

“Let them come,” said Lionguard Roshan. “I would welcome a final battle with the White Mantle.”

Surely, he will get his wish.
