The 2010 World of Warcraft Tournament Realm has closed and the festivities are over. This year's TR was an intense display of skill and a convincing display of how ridiculous high end PvE gear has become when used in Player vs Player combat.

Despite that, the qualifying teams are arrayed across a wide variety of different team compositions ranging from melee cleave teams (TSG) to caster cleaves like Complexity Red to more traditional setups like Nerdstompers' Warrior/Lock/Druid team.

The top 8 teams were locked in early yesterday and are as follows:

1 TSG - 2641
2 Co Black - 2637
3 Whiteshadows - 2636
4 Co Red - 2629
5 Arena Pwnage - 2629
6 Nerdstompers - 2625
7 Vileroze's mage/warlock/shaman team - 2624
8 team CHRIS THORMANN - 2622

As you can see, the qualifying cutoff was quite tight; there were also a couple teams a 2620 and one at 2618 that narrowly missed it. All 8 of these teams will be attending and competing at BlizzCon 2010 courtesy of Blizzard.

The TSG (Warrior/Death Knight/Holy Paladin) setup which became infamous after winning at BlizzCon 2009 will be first seeded going into the tournament and shows that despite speculation about the demise of melee based teams there are still some that can hold their own.

The structure of the BlizzCon tournament is unknown as of now, but there was also a qualifier for teams on the European realms and some of them may make an appearance depending on how Blizzard decides to handle things. Either way, a good end to a hard fought tournament, and some hope for a great spectacle for those watching at BlizzCon!
