From the very moment Bioware uttered the words "space combat" in regards to their full fledged MMORPG, Star Wars: The Old Republic, fans started frothing at the mouth. Would SWTOR actually bring in space combat as a legit form of gameplay? While not much was shared at the first announcement, details have been trickling in as gamers get their hands on the October issue of PC Gamer which highlights the ins and outs of space combat. So what can we expect?

- Missions lasting 2-8 minutes.

- Single player instances with future potential of PvP and co-op space combat.

- Various mission styles that mimic iconic Star Wars battles.

- Basic tunnel and rail-style shooter missions.

The official forums have seen their fair share of discussion over space combat and while it seems many players are disappointed that BioWare's idea of alternate gameplay is more like mission mini-games, some players are remaining optimistic that just the addition of some space combat paves the way for more complex space combat in the future.

What are your thoughts? Did BioWare raise the hype level in their space combat announcement only to drop the ball with reality, or are you just happy to see any space combat fun? Be sure to join the debate on our forums by clicking the "Post your comments" link below.
