Need for Speed World is joining the free-to-play market by removing the Level 10 starting cap and making the game available to players for free. At launch, players who didn't buy the game's Starter Pack were unable to advance beyond level 10. However, as of today, players can join the game and race their way to level 50 and have full access to the entire racing world as well as all events and game modes.

Players who opted to buy the Starter Pack before September 8th, 2010 will be receiving an extra perk in the form of three 7-day car rental vouchers for the BMW M3 GTR, the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 and the Audi R8 4.2 FSI Quattro as a "Thank You" from the devs for their support of the game.

Ten Ton Hammer also had the chance to speak with Producer Jean-Charles Gaudechon about the decision to take the game free-to-play and what role the community played in making the decision. Be sure to give it a read.
