Are you one of the many World of Warcraft fans waiting at the edge of
your seat for the official release date of the upcoming Cataclysm
expansion? Well sadly enough this post won’t give you any
official dates as they have not been released by Blizzard, however it
may give you a general idea of when Cataclysm will be hitting the
stores.

The writers over at Kotaku have reported that overnight they received a
slew of reports from their readers. What is the reason behind this
sudden excitement you ask? Apparently last night Amazon released
e-mails to those that have pre-ordered
Cataclysm with what all World of
Warcraft fans have been waiting on; an estimated arrival date. Sadly
enough though the date is far from what most players were expecting.

We've collected
several e-mail tips from readers who report receiving
e-mails from the online retailer in the last several hours, all of the
notes indicating that Amazon now estimates delivery of the game as soon
as January 4, 2011 or as late as January 18.

While this claim has not yet been conformed or denied by Blizzard, if
it is true, no one will be enjoying Cataclysm as part of their holiday
cheer. How do you feel about this possible release date? I personally
was hoping for Cataclysm as a Christmas present (I’m cheap)
and will be sorely disappointed if this date is confirmed as true. Not
to mention that if Cataclysm was released before the holidays Blizzard
could most likely expect more sales, not that they need any help or
anything.
