Put away that cape and stop designing that super suit, Sony Online Entertainment's (SOE) DC Universe Online (DCUO) will not be available as planned this November. The news broke earlier today through IGN that the DCUO release has been pushed back until early 2011. But there is a silver lining in the bad news. If you were lucky enough to snag a VIP card at one of the many game events such as San Diego Comic-Con, you could be getting your beta access as early as next week. And anyone that pre-orders the game before November 15th, 2010, will have beta access by November 30th.

And there is a piece of good news for Playstation 3 players. SOE also announced that there will now be a PS3 Collector's Edition version of the game. So maybe you won't have to hold off on that costume design too long after all.

While the delay is certainly bad news for DCUO fans, I think we can all agree that we would rather see a delay than a bad release because few things sink an MMOG faster than that.
