Cataclysm Pre-Order F.A.Q.:
When will my credit card (or other payment method) be charged?
You will be charged on the day that you place your pre-order for World of Warcraft: Cataclysm.
Why do I need to log into the game once after Ive upgraded?
The first time you log in after preordering, your account will become eligible to begin receiving the Cataclysm data when its available. The data will download in the background while you play World of Warcraft or while you have the Launcher window open.
Can I pre-order physical copies of Cataclysm and have it shipped?
Not from Blizzard Entertainment, but many retailers offer pre-orders of physical boxes and Collectors Editions.
In what regions is the Cataclysm pre-sale available? What day/time is Cataclysm launching in my region?
The pre-sale is available in the following regions, with realms scheduled to launch at the following times:
Americas, Australia and South East Asia December 7th at 12:01 AM PST
Europe and Russia December 7th at 12:01 AM CET
Will a digital version of the Collectors Edition, with the exclusive pet, be available?
No. The World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Collectors Edition is exclusive to physical retail copies. The digital version consists of the standard edition.
The Cataclysm Digital Download process is very simple, you order, pay, log in, and play!
As someone living too far North for my own liking, I'll be looking forward to not having to line up in the freezing cold at 12:00am.
The only notable downsides to this approach are that you won't recieve a physical copy of the expansion. That's important to some players. Cataclysm is also very large so if you've got a slow internet connection or have limited bandwidth then this probably isn't the right choice for you. Either way it's nice to have this as an option.
