Everything is finite and has its day in the spotlight. This week, not only is the greatest cataclysm Azeroth has ever known coming to the World of Warcraft but Zahrym also announced yesterday that the Cataclysm beta has ended.
The beta started way back at the beginning of July and Ive been in it since day zero. Ive explored Azeroth, I must have rolled a Worgen at least seven times, I even rolled the ugliest Goblin possible just to call it Fuggly. Good times. I got the opportunity to watch the game change from being buggy and temperamental at the start - and, indeed, the middle - when areas like Uldum werent even complete (and yet still sneak-inable) to a nearly complete 25gb beast of a game complete with login screen and glorious in-game cinematics. Yes, my friends, very good times. Now, barely two weeks before launch, and its all over. The servers are gone, your beloved toons turned back into the 0s and 1s they were before creation and the Shattering itself is upon us. Heres what Zahrym had to say:
Were just about two weeks out from the official global launch of World of Warcraft: Cataclysm! And with that, the time has come to conclude the beta test. We will be shutting down our beta realms momentarily. We want to sincerely thank all of you for your dedication to testing, providing feedback, reporting bugs, and everything else youve done to help us make this expansion the best World of Warcraft title to date.
