style="font-style: italic;">Relive EverQuest again on a new Progression Server this March.

Do you want to return to the EverQuest (EQ) days of old and experience the content as it once was? If so, you're in luck. This March, Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) will be firing up a new EQ Progression Server for the long-running MMORPG. If you had the chance to take part in one of the first two Progression Servers for EQ: The Combine and The Sleeper, you already have an idea how the content will work. The Progression Server begins with the original game and the expansions locked and then unlocked over time, allowing players to experience EQ similar to how it was long ago and how it evolved through each expansion.

SOE is making one fun little change with the new server. With the two previous Progression Servers, new expansion content was opened up as players completed certain goals. As you might expect, power players and hardcore guilds managed to open the expansion content in a relatively short time. So to provide players with a little more time to enjoy the older content before unlocking the next expansion, the new Progression Server will unlock each expansion's content over a certain period of time instead of content completion.

Additional details about the new Progression Server will be revealed once the new server name has been chosen and you can cast your vote for that on the official EverQuest forums.
