Final Fantasy XIV (FFXIV) players were welcomed back to the game last Friday following resumption of services for the game. Square Enix temporarily suspended service following a power shortage resulting from the earthquake disaster in Japan. But with the game now back in full swing, the developers are already adding some new changes to the game with a recent update.

The 1.16 update is now live and introduces a number of quest changes. Experience points, skill points and loot are now awarded for defeating sidequest enemies, which originally awarded none. and players can now choose to abandon quests if they so choose. The update also adds new targeting options for players to choose from and addresses a number of bugs.

You can read the full list of patch notes on the FFXIV Loadstone website.

Additionally, Square Enix has started the "Square Enix Crysta Tohoku Earthquake Relief Fund", which will allow players to donate Crysta to be converted to cash to aid in relief efforts for Japan via the Japanese Red Cross. Learn more about the new program and how you can donate on the FFXIV Loadstone website.
