Fallen Earth "State of the Game" Details Alpha County Content Work

Posted Wed, Apr 13, 2011 by Martuk

Alpha County is set to launch in Fallen Earth later this month and in a new "State of the Game", Senior Game Designer Marie “Aro Sei” Croall offered players a look behind the scenes and at some of the content to come for the game. The lore for Alpha County is so large that it posed a challenge actually developing the content.

Devo and the artists have been working hard on completing the assets needed as well as building the terrain and working on environmental effects. The lore in Alpha is pretty big – big enough to require rethinking how we approach art and content. When art and content first sat down and planned out The Grainway, we knew where we wanted to go, but we didn’t have the tools needed to develop the county artistically the way the story called for. Every patch we’ve released to date has brought us one step closer to making Alpha County possible.

The update also includes several screenshots that offer a look at what the team has been working on and the challenge that developing the Alpha County content and quests has posed to the team.
